Mums home :o)

Mum got home this afternoon, eventually...She had been asleep when the doctors did their rounds and they didn't like to waken her...She was asleep because she had a rash from something she has to wear for next 6 weeks so they gave her piriton...Not non drowsy piriton but the type that makes you sleepy...Took loads of phonecalls from me and my sisters to the hospital to find out what was going on...Isn't like either of my sisters can be there to pick her up within minutes like <sigh> ...Little sis was coming in today regardless so gave up and just came in...Mum phoned me after 2pm and said she was getting home so i said i'd text little sis as she'd be driving...Texted her and she'd just parked in the hossy carpark...Then they wanted mum and little sis to wait until 5pm to get a prescription!!!!...Yeah right no chance...Nurses said why not and got told a) we have about 70 miles to travel back home and b) little sis had kids to get home too...Eventually little sis got them to phone mums GP and tell him what she needed prescribed...They then had cheek to say 'do you have a chemist where you live' !!!!!!...I have every admiration for the NHS but some nurses just need to learn a bit of compassion, leeway and not to be so rude...In any other hospital mum has been in they have quite happily called her by the name she is known as and also had that name on her bed...Through here oh no we have to use her proper name so admin know who we mean...My mum has not been called her proper christian name since she was days old and one of her uncles called her by a short version of it LOL...Anyways she is home, she had something good to eat that was edible and she is happier being home...Amazing how how a bad cook can ruin good food ain't it LOL...

Went to gym this morning and did my weights stuff...boys were in respite playscheme...Where they did nothing, not even offered to get taken out...No driver for the minibus...I am so going to complain to social work big time about it this year...Ridiculous they knew the driver was leaving back beginning of may and they haven't even advertised in paper for a new one yet...They also say they aren't allowed to take the kids out of the city because social work say so...That i know for a fact is utter rubbish...Every other playscheme in the city is allowed to take kids on trips away and social work have said it is rubbish...To be honest the only reason i only let them go there now is so i can have a few hours break...Weather went dull kind of here today and was cool in the morning...The haar came in but it went away later so warmed up again although still dull...Haar for anyone who doesn't know is seamist...Think it is a scottish word for it not sure stuart can probs verify for me LOL...It's warm tonight though and left kitchen window open...Funeral is on fri so i will need to leave really early to get there in time...Do hope they let me sit with mum as with her being poorly we don't want her sat on her own without one of us beside her...They will :o) ...I love Richard Burtons voice hence listening to war of the worlds...

Thank you everyone who left comments wishing mum well and about my uncle...They are very much appreciated :o)

I am so glad that your Mom is back home with you where she belongs! Its hard when someone you love so much is in the hospital. You worry constantly about them, and feel guilty when your not there with them. Sorry about you Uncle and having to deal with that right now. You have a lot on your plate right now, and I wish you all the best.    Rhonda

So glad your Mum is home Caff, it must be such a relief to her to be away from the hospital.  Mad that they wouldn't call her by the name she uses, and why ask if there was a pharmacy where she lived?!  Daft.
Will be thinking of you all on Friday.

Very glad she's home..........they always say to wait for prescriptions and it does take a long time much better and easier to key it through to the GP but in their defence they do have a lot of them to do.  Really pleased she's home though.xxRache
