Need a new memory LOL
Forgot to say K has had word from the hospital...She will get an appointment some time within next 26 weeks...She will get another letter 6 weeks before the appointment to tell her when it is...Now is it just me or is that a sneaky way of having you on a waiting list but NOT on waiting list if you get my drift??? I do wish she'd passed out when she was at home as i would have had her straight to A&E...As it was she didn't although she did go dizzy a few times for no reason but not actually blackout...My big sis said she had a letter similar about something she needs seeing for...Now to me ok it may not be a desperately urgent life and death thing with K BUT surely someone blacking out for no reason is a bit more urgent than having to wait half a year to be seen!!! Actually on reflection it could be life or death depending on where she blacks out and if she's on her own how she falls but don't want to dwell on that...I am going to ask her if she can phone the hospital and ask to be put on a cancellation list if they have such a thing for that dept.

I would think it is a typical scam to meet government targets.
Itotally agree with what Stuart has just said ,How infuriating for her ....and you ...Janxx
I think you are right. She should phone the hospital about appointments and keep phoning them, even if she makes a nuisance of herself. If it happens again, fingers crossed it will not, then make sure she gets to A and E.

Caff I do get your drift - thats a waiting list whatever way you look at it... (thats a waiting list - but not a waiting list) It must be an extra worry with her away from home.....next time she's home Caff I'd take her to A&E even if it is only dizzness...
(But that's me).....You take care.....Ally
Hi Caff, I`ve just had a letter telling me much the same thing, luckily it`s very minor but that`s not the point is it? I was put on a waiting list just to get an appointment with a specialist once...the cheek of it! I hope K doesn`t have to wait anywhere near that amount of time. :o)

I agree with you surely if someone is blacking out an urgent appointment should be made. Hope she gets seen soon :-)
