TV star

M came home from school all excited saying we had to watch the local ITV news at 6 o'clock...They had been along to his school filming their Burns Supper and interviewed some of the kids...M was one of the ones interviewed...He was also filmed reading the selkirk grace for the older pupils but they showed the girl who read it for the younger pupils...They had pupils over from the music school to pipe it in and then play ceilidh music for a dance after...The music school is based at G's high school and the piper is in his year...They did show M's interview :o) So he's now chuffed to bits and saying he is famous LOL.

This is not the first time any of them have been on television...G was on tv when he was just 3 years old LOL...The assessment centre/SEN nursery he went to did a nationwide appeal for money to build a hydrotherapy pool/soft play area and he appeared in a lot of it :o)  Five and a half years ago K was interviewed on a nationwide search to find children to take part in a channel4 kids current affairs programme...She wasn't successful then but the following march i got a message left on my answering machine from some woman who said she was from tv company...I phoned back and they then phoned me as the call was going to be expensive...And to cut a long story short 3 weeks later i had a film crew at my flat LOL...It was a channel 4 schools programme called Being Different...K was chosen to appear on it to talk about being a Young Carer and how it affected her life...So we had a camerman, researcher and producer with us for a whole day...They also spoke to the boys who both appeared in the end result...I refused to take part <ggg> In the afternoon the boys went out with 2 carers and we moved down to the local carers centre to do some filming there...Heaps of footage for about 2 minutes worth of finally edited film ROFL...It was very very good though and i was extremely proud of K :o) I did get miffed with her mentioning that i had recently had earache and hurt my shoulder...K does get rather peeved that this is still repeated every year as part of the channel4 schools programming...She has appeared on news items about young carers or syp stuff since.

So there you go my *famous* kids LOL

A family of stars in fact, you'll have to let us know when K's program comes around again, so we can all watch!

That's great!  I have been on the news only the once when i was on jury service at Leeds Crown Court.  I was caught walking out while there was a news reader recording a clip of one of the days cases!  It was my hubby who spotted me.
