definitely fill in how the worst day could be, even somebody from DLA once told me that, good luck with the encycopedia of a form, its so big nowadays they even want to know how many times you pee, I am sure
Sorry to highlight your comment jules it did make me giggle :o) ....The adult one is actually smaller than the one for under 16's...But it has stuff in it that under 16s one doesn't as by that age you are expected to be able to cook for yourself etc LOL...Could someone in authority somewhere please have told my K that before she left home at almost 18 ROFL...In under 16s one they ALWAYS wanted to know how many times you had to go pee and how much help you needed when going to do so...What i have always done in the several forms i have had to fill in for both of the boys over the last 13 years is where it asks: How many times, How long, How far, etc i have put in those boxes please see page X...Then one page X (can;t remember number) where it asks for any other relevant information about your disability to help your claim i have put down the following...'Due to the nature of G's autistic spectrum disorder then it is not possible to state a specific or even an average for how far he can walk...Then same for how long he can do blah de blah for...Then how many times he needs help going to the loo or having a bath or washing his damned hair etc etc etc...I fill in the WHOLE of page X with all the relevant info on ASD that is needed...It really is about time they revamped the dratted DLA forms to allow for people who have mental disabilities and made them mental disability friendly...OR what would be better still is for them to have a seperate DLA form altogether for people who don't have a physical disability because the current form which i doubt has ever been changed is all geared towards physical disability...I have actually said this to people in the DSS and people in DLA at blackpool when phoning them and they all agree...Anyways was just a wee (scuse the pun) add on for todays entry :o)

aw i hate dla forms...they're so depressing. im sure every person who works for them has never even interacted with a kid before, let alone a disabled one! when i fill in my big lads forms it asks how far he can walk outside unaided...i say 0 miles because as soon as we step out the front door, im hanging onto him, because he has no sense of danger, and very wobbly.
they really have no idea....good luck and i hope your boy gets what he is entitled to :-)

Caff Jules comment made me giggle ~ ~ I don't envy you having to fill in such forms ~ perhaps one day they will make them more user friendly for both the mentally and disabled people ~ perhaps you should offer to show them how to rewrite them ~ you have had years of practice it really must frustrate you lol ~ Ally
Hi Caff, I really sympathise with you having to fill in that form. MY SIL had to fill out one on my MIL`s behalf and they wanted to know so many things my MIL was no longer able to tell them as she has dementia. And some of the questions...talk about wanting to know the ins and outs.....! I hope it doesn`t take you too long to sort out. LOL at Jules comment. :o)
