YEsterday

Well he didn't get through yesterday...Not many did at all...It was also a very long day and quite frankly the organisation sucked big time...They had people there from 7.30am who weren't on until around 2pm...They had those under 18 there from 9am quite a few who were as young as 5 years old...And most of them weren't on until between 2 and 3pm...The holding area this time was a smaller room that was packed with not enough chairs and was extremely stuffy...And Simon was in a bad mood and buzzing people out before they had barely begun their act...He buzzed M out before he had finished the first line of what he was singing...Also it did very much smack of a rigged or fixed day...As we weren't in the audience as such i dunno how they were told to behave before filming started...But every time 1 judge buzzed the whole audience started shouting off, off, off...So the impression me and others got was they were told to do that...Having rather young kids taking part and making them hang about so long i would have thought must have broken some rules & regs regarding minors being involved in television...One of the other contestants friends or family said M didn't have that bad a voice...And it did sound ok in the venue...But i think what he does really isn't what they are looking for on BGT...Must say though he was rather clever without realising it...As soon as he had been buzzed by all of the judges M spoke out...Dunno if that was how it was supposed to work but he said 'oh well 3 buzzers that's the way it works'...Simon was the one who spoke when he came on and Simon replied to that...What he said was 'well it was nice to meet you M' and then M walked off the stage...Giving neither Piers nor Amanda time to say anything or Simon to be critical of his voice...LOLOLOL...Actually if Simon had been going to be critical he would have said so when he spoke back to M.

We did get to see Ant & Dec very close up...They came up to the holding area to interview some acts...And those acts were already picked out...Ok that kind of smacks of fix but i know that one of them at least wasn't put through...Anyway where they actually did those interviews was right beside where we were sitting...And OMG i knew they were short but not THAT short lol...Ant is the taller of the two of them and he's shorter than me and am 5'8½"...M had to have someone backstage and in the wings with him being under 18...He wanted K with him and not me...So they both got to speak to Ant & Dec and K is slightly shorter than me and said Dec came to about her shoulders...Probs not that short but i'd say regardless of what his official blurb says that he must be about 5'3"...Dec did say to K that Simon didn't give M a chance when he buzzed so quick...Now in the holding area everyone was talking to each other and asking stuff like what day had they auditioned on previously...One act who turned up later for the late afternoon/early evening auditions said this was their first time...They hadn't been to another audition for the show...Hmmmmm rather strange and i wasn't only person who thought so...Tell you if they are on the Live shows then something is definitely WRONG and yes i do remember the name of their act and what they look like...But at end of the day they only had 21 acts in the first session and 21 in the second session yesterday and they were only doing one day there...So out of the thousands that auditioned back in nov to get down to that stage was good...And he shouldn't be too despondant...I didn't agree with people having to be there so damned early...I know they interviewed every single act on camera and some more than once but even so there was no need for it...Even those who had stayed overnight were still up ridiculously early for something that was on in the afternoon.

The hotel was rather dodgy to say the least and we won't be staying there ever again...Taxis in Glasgow are a lot cheaper than here LOL...K made me take her shopping <sigh> Oh and reason it was difficult to find accomodation near the venue was because there was a huge massive trade fair on...Some were staying in same hotel as us and i got the card off the blokes who did packaging for jewellery...I've now fave placed their website as it's rather interesting and their prices look reasonable but i will need to compare with others...Shame i couldn't have a wander in to the trade fair but you needed to have a pass to get in LOL

Anyway he's not through but hey ho it was an experience...Not one i would care to repeat but still an experience...And it has put him off applying to X Factor :o)

answers

Ok answers to some comments :o)

Yeah D the pain is dragging on...Am sick fed up of it and it really is doing my head in big time...Anytime i cut down on or try to stop taking the anti inflammatories it swells up again <sigh> Am sick fed up of having to eat something reasonably substantial with the codydramol as i want to lose weight not put any on LOL...If i could lift something heavier than a 1 litre bottle of juice with my right arm just now i would be delighted...I just hope that i can get an appointment with my GP on tues...He only works mon & tues and of course on mon we're in Glasgow.

Am not so much worried about being self employed am more worried about me getting bored doing same design over and over LOL...Why do you think i have around 60 or 70 cards made as sort of samples and no 2 are the same ROFL...It's also finding out who runs and organises the fairs...I know that for some of them you have to belong to a specific group...BUT any that are in the AEEC then they should be advertised on their website along with a contact email or phone number...Tables or stalls there will be hideously priced though so perhaps best to steer clear of them to begin with again...Same with the music hall here but they shouldn't be as expensive...I know you can pay for different sizes of space though which is good...One of my friends one of her work colleagues does some craft fairs so can get info through her.

J i don't like ebay much and i don't want to sell through ebay...For one thing i hear too much happening like happened to poor Stuart with his Wii...In other words buyers not coughing up...Also i don't really want to give ebay some of the money i would be hoping to earn...I will be doing a website but i need a camera that ain't being arsey and taking crap pics and i need the website creating proggy i want to use off my ex bro in law...I have a domain name thingy already but to be honest it's a bit pants...The name i wanted was already taken as .co.uk...Ok i could have taken as .com or .org or dot any of the other endings but i would have felt bad doing that...Mind you do you think it would be naughty to use the name i liked and put designs on the end of it????

So hope that's answered some comments

I bought fabric pens instead of fabric paints...So will do a simple T shirt later for monday...It will do for monday and as i said IF he gets further i'll get one printed instead with his pic on it as well...Bought a couple of el cheapo tiara bands to have a go on as well...Oh and our bead shop was selling swarovski crystal red, pink and crimson hearts so bought 2 of each...Anyways got to run to Asda to return trainers and buy food and drink for the train tomorrow

Tiaras????

Back when K was little i bought plain plastic headbands then covered and embellished them...As i had to hand sew everything on they did take an age to make...Other mums at the mother and toddler groups liked them so i made for them as well or made and donated to coffee mornings etc to raise funds...I've been thinking for a few years that it's not that great a leap of faith to progress from those headbands to doing simple tiaras...I say simple because quite frankly some of them are so over the top and have some much on them i think they look way too much...Besides it ties in nicely with wire & bead jewellery in a way don't you think???? Am off down to John Lewis quickly or elsewhere in town to buy some cheapy fabric paints or crayons...May look and see if they have tiara bands and try it out...The headbands and hairslides and hairpins i used to do would look pretty on a flowergirl....Hmmm like i said yesterday i have too many ideas and don't put into practise...I need to get disciplined again and get them down on paper or samples done and DO something about selling them.

Stuart i will be doing a card for you and J i've just been slow because it was hurting too much :o(  Next week i am going to fight this pain barrier come hell or high water and get things done

Not a lot really

The burns night was good last night...It's really just an evening for the dancers to show off their dancing and some adults associated with the school accompanying on the fiddle and drum with one of them doing the toast to the haggis...But there's no haggis, neeps and tatties served up...We did have a break for tea, coffee, irn bru or a wee dram of whisky with some snack food...Well oatcakes with cheese, shortbread, sausage rolls, sandwiches, a rather yummy fruit cake and haggis balls...One of the parents of the dancers had made tha haggis balls...They were haggis rolled into a ball and covered in pastry...Guess they were fine if you like haggis..I don't LOL...M sang twice which i didn't know he was doing...A couple of his friends did a double act telling jokes and one of them was also singing...Some of the dancers sang as well as a group...Maybe am biased but out of them all who were singing M was by far the best...Well along with the actual dancers he did get biggest round of applause...There must have been over 100 people in the hall watching as well...Quite a few of the primary one pupils have joined the dancing group...One wee lad who is downs was dead cute, very funny and thoroughly enjoying himself...So much so he wanted to stay on the floor dancing the whole night :o)  The first time M sang i didn't record it...Well i thought i had but i hadn't arghhh...I've never recorded with this camera before and i could swear i had pressed the right buttons...Shame because i think he sang it better than the 2nd song...And the 2nd one is what he is singing on mon...But he has sang Robbie Williams song Advertising Space a few times at school things...So he's well used to it by now...Must say he does sing it really well...Before he sang the 2nd time he told everyone he is auditioning on mon so after the evening finished everyone was going up to him to wish him luck :o)  Today he has come home from college with good luck 'cards' that his classmates made for him...Which is sweet :o)

I sat beside one of M's friends mum last night...She's in the bad books with her son LOL...Because she wouldn't let him audition for either X Factor or Britains Got Talent...Thing is he's not that great a singer...He goes off key all the time and basically she is trying to protect him from looking daft or being put through to being in front of the judges to look daft on telly...Now he is quite good at comedy so he'd be far better putting a comedy act together and audition for BGT as a comedian instead...His diagnosis is aspergers but the school GP is wanting to run other tests for other stuff...He's a lovely lad but very very vulnerable...His mum like me went to Art school although a different one...She has set up a business doing caricatures and goes to wedding fairs, craft fairs and corporate events to get business...She didn't tell me how much a stall costs at these big events (she doesn't do the smaller ones) but said it was worth the money...I know the stalls are expensive...But the last one she did which was a huge wedding fair she got orders worth £2000...But she charges an awful lot per caricature...I know what i would like to do but what worries me is a) the cost of setting it all up, b) overstretching myself, c) having too much variation of things eg: cards, glass painting, wedding favours and jewellery again and d) FAILURE...Ok i could farm out some bits to friends to do if anything was popular...When i suggested to K IF i managed to get the unusual wedding favour idea off the ground that i could teach her to crochet and pay her £1 per favour she cited minimum wage at me...My reply was yeah i know minimum wage and it doesn't take an hour to crochet one item LOL...Besides i couldn't really charge more than around £3.50 per favour to those wanting to buy them...And they don't take that long to crochet up...I know from trying out for christmas cards (which never got finished LOL) that my idea of using wire will work...Just need to get the right thickness...Dilemmas (sp) i need to resolve and soon...I enjoy creating stuff and always have done...I was one of those avidly glued to Blue Peter wanting to try and make what was shown from good old sticky back plastic and rubbish LOL...BUT even very young i added to what they did...Like if it was a room for one of your dolls made from a carboard box and furniture from old egg cartons i put my own additions in...Mine had to have skirting boards, light bulbs, sockets, flexes and such like...Bulbs and plugs made from plasticine, skirting boards from thin card and painted before glued on to the walls, flexes and cables from string or wool or crochet thread LOL...But if am going to make this work i need to try and stick to specifics and try not to vary from them too much...I have found some sources for silver wire although some the bulk they sell in is way too much for me just now...To be honest i am getting frustrated with researching sources and would rather be getting on with being creative...I have these ideas going round and round in my head and i want to try them out...Am going to buy el cheapo wire and use plastic beads to try them out see if they are feasible and look good...Of course the problems with my shoulder are getting in the way a bit as well just now...I really don't want to start soldering again as a) it's messy and b) i would need a totally seperate room which i could set up as a proper workshop...Ach it can all wait until after monday and see what transpires with M.

G has accepted the conditional offer of a place on the MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (hope i got them right way round)...He did that at school and never told me LOL..Today he had another 3 letters inviting him to one of 3 prospective student days at the Engineering dept of RGU...Now todays date is the 25th jan and one of the days was 16th jan LOL...It would be good for him to go to one of them as well as have the personalised visit...As at one of those days he will get to meet other prospective students which would be cool...I do wish he would keep me up to date on what he has and hasn't done though...Suppose am only mum ROFL...Am sure the base and school reckon he had told me but he forgets so easily...One reason i would like a PDA applied for through disabled student grant or he'll never remember anything...Not as messy as post it notes stuck here, there and everywhere...Am getting car back tomorrow, it's been fixed and retested and passed...I'll find out the damage to my pocket next week LOL...Oh i've tried to edit and fiddle with the clip i tried to take of M last night...You'll have to wait because am crap at it LOL

Toodle pip tc and have a fab weekend :o)

Everything booked and ready to go

Finally post arrived today from BGT for M...And it does indeed have 9am as the time he has to be there for on monday...However it doesn't say an approx finish time <sigh> ...Did a search and one of the options was 20 hotels near the SECC...So i looked them up and most of them are full up...Either that or only 1 room left or ridiculous prices...The one that looks posh only had 1 twin room left which is just as well as it is reduced to £99 a night from £139...Now that does include brekkie...Another that did have 2 suitable rooms available is £79 a night with NO brekkie included...I found another and phoned them as i came across problems with the booking online...That also gave me the opportunity to ask them how far from train station and how far from SECC...So it's around 10 mins walk from the SECC and 15-20 mins from train station...I could have booked direct with him but it cost £10 more a night...He said that the website i was trying to use did take debit cards so i punched it all in whilst on phone and it worked :o) ...So next go and book the train...Oh crikey that's fun NOT...I went to the train station as i always find trying to book a train online a nightmare...£49 the guy at train station said...I was like no chance...He said well give me specific times to get it cheaper...I said i wanted the times for around lunchtime on sunday and for mid evening on monday...If he wasn't going to tell me the actual time then how am i supposed to book specific time...Eventually he said what the times were and punched them in and said it will be £40 for two tickets...I told him but i need three tickets...Well because there's 3 of us then you get friends rates and i was £41 in total for the 3 tickets...He tried to emphasise we must travel together...Told him barring any accidents then we will be travelling together and if there is an accident we won't be travelling at all...I haven't told the boys we have to bus it to Dundee yet though...Yes there is engineering works on the line between Abdn and Dundee on sunday...Flipping typical they ALWAYS have flipping engineering works on that bit of the line...And that will be so much fun having to go down steep narrow steps to find the right train...M panicked today when he read the letter...It said that him and whoever was with him last time MUST have hair the same and wear the same outfit...He looked at me and if looks could kill...My hair was long and straggly and a pigging mess then...And now it's chopped short again...Plus i ain't got a clue what i wore last time...But as i told him that's alright because i wasn't filmed last time...That would apply to groups and acts that have more than one person in them...Panic over LOL...But he is panicking about his singing...He doesn't feel he can do whole song without a backing track :o(  Last time they had to sing 1 verse and 1 chorus only...So now am worried as well...Maybe i should phone the local radio station tomorrow and see if they can get do one at short notice and take it with us just in case he can be allowed to use one?????

So much for car going to get MOT done...Well it did but i didn't take it round....Went to try and drive boys to club last night and damned thing wouldn't start...I decided not to phone the wonderful AA because it was going to the garage this morning anyway...Plus i am not really fit to take it for a long enough drive to charge it up properly...So went round this morning and left the keys with nice garage man...It will be flat because it's not been used, except for the twice last weekend, since christmas eve and it sits on the street...I hear them jump starting it LOL...And i didn't get a call so am presuming some work needed doing...They'll just have done it and then tell me the damages...He's really good as he won't put in expensive parts to anyone unless they specifically request them...He'll try and get 2nd hand or reconditioned...And if it was major fail then he'd contact you before they go ahead and make the repairs so it can pass...Basically if it ain't worth fixing then he won't bother...Or it could have come back passed as they were closing and i'll get a call in the morning...MOT, road tax next week and £141 not counting food and drink for the audition, £8 for barbers as well...Am gonna be brassic again...Barbers will be tomorrow...His clothes are clean and just need ironed...I am scared to wash or have the jacket dry cleaned in case it shrinks...This wearing same stuff is restricting but i suppose they know what they are doing...M is singing that Take That song tomorrow night at the school Burns Night...I know it's not Burns and it's not Scottish but they had some of the ones who are good at singing as entertainment last year regardless of what they sang...Good praccy for mon LOL...I will try and record it

Iwas violently ill last night and can hardly eat or drink today...Which has meant no painkillers...And boy do i know it :o(  My physio appointment has been changed to 4th feb in the morning.

Scream

ARRGGGHHHHHHHHH

Right got that out of the way grrr...Right there still hadn't been any calls or post from BGT...Now considering it is next monday and we hadn't even been informed by them i'd have thought we'd have had something by now...So on fri i tried calling and got no-one in...Same today so i thought sod it...Tried looking up the 2 television companies and the media group in directory enquries to no avail...So googled the companies...Low and behold i got a couple of phone numbers...So i called one of them and got put through to someone who could help...Well she was just doing the letters and said we should have them tomorrow...Like gee thanks i need to book train tickets and i won't be the only one...And as we all know the more in advance it is booked the cheaper it is...But there's more and worse IMO...They have to register when they get there and there is set registration times...Ok it was same the last time but we queued and then they took us in to register...None of that this time oh no...Registration time because he is under 18 is NINE AM...If he had been over 18 it would have been 7.30am FFS...Now he could be in the midday to 3pm section or in the 4.30-7.30pm section...And hey i got impression you must stay in the holding area all that time...Oh and because he is under 16 we can be in the wings whilst he sings...I mean FFS 9am!!!!!!!!...She must have known by my reaction that it was a tad early like because she asked if that would cause problems...I said well we have to travel down from Aberdeen...And she was like 'oh that is a fair distance'...So looks like now i will have to try and book a hotel near the armadillo for the sunday night...And i have just looked at availability in hotels near there and it ain't looking good...Well not unless i want to pay well over £100 for the one night for a twin room...Or pay around £65 with no brekkie included...Stupid people could give you more warning so you can make arrangements...M doesn't need anything except a flipping microphone so he doesn't need to be there ridiculously early to organise setting up of stuff...Plus he will go nuts hanging around that long with his autism...And if he doesn't G will...Or i could have both of them getting iffy and restless...That's why am screaming LOL.

:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) The letters

The letters :o) Well i had to go pick up G from his pals because G missed the bus...Not happy as it's put my shoulder in more pain and it is swollen from earlier <sigh> But sod it i don't care for now LOL...I took the 3 letters with me because i quite frankly couldn't wait any longer ROFL...So MEng in Mechanical Engineering he has a Conditional offer for sept 2008, MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering he also has a conditional offer...The condition being that he gets at least a B grade in the one of the Highers he is sitting this year...He's only sitting one the other 2 subjects are Advanced Highers which supercede Highers LOL...And he's going to get an A in Physics barring any unforseen circumstances...Well so everyone at school says...So the other letter is BEng (Hons)/MEng Mechanical and Electrical Engineering he has an UNCONDITIONAL offer :o) Now whichever one he accepts he will need to discuss with school and the uni disability support i think...He can wait a while before he decides...I think speaking to the lecturers when he gets the visit would be best to wait for

Ohhhhhhh am so so so so chuffed to bits...No interviews just straight accpetances even if 2 are conditional....Hey if we lived in England they'd ALL be conditional as A Level results don't come out until after you apply to uni in England...I can't believe this...My wee quite severely autistic non verbal 3 year old has developed into a very verbal aspergers 17 year old with uni acceptances :o) Crikey am almost crying now

OMG the womans ill

I managed to drive last night around the block to the wee coop...I wanted money and it was piddling down with rain and i felt ok...However driving 6½ miles to G's school and same back wasn't ok...Boy do i ache like heck...The seatbelt hurts, looking over my shoulder to check for traffic hurts, going over speed bumps still hurts regardless of being in the car...But NOT being able to drive hurts too and i wanna be able to drive again properly...My shoulder is swollen up again but not as bad as it was...<sigh> i NEED to drive to glasgow a week on mon...I forgot my purse as well which meant no asda and no papermill...Tomorrow i will drive not quite so far and build it up but looks like could be train to glasgow.

Anyways reason i was driving is that it was G's review today...It's been so late this year that i doubt he will get a 2nd one as they are usually in march LOL...As this was a postponed one from the original postponement (sp) then it was only the head of the school, the careers woman and MrsP head of his base...Well OMG knock me down with a feather she has got to be ill...She didn't have ANYTHING 'bad' to say for once...Yups you read that correctly NOTHING bad to say at all...No moans, nowt...Am in shock as you can tell <g> ...In fact check this bit out

'G is an absolute star both socially and academically. He is so well mannered and kind. He thinks of others and their feelings. His reports from Bankhead are glowing and it is interesting to note that they talk about his social ability.'

Honestly she must be having a funny turn moment or something...No complaints about his hair or his clothes...She COMPLIMENTED them!!!!!!...She said he's much smarter now and his hair is a lot better...MrT the head teacher did kind of raise his eyebrows at that comment from her...Probs because he full well knows same as everyone else that his hair is same as it has been for the last 3 or 4 years and that his clothes are the same as well LOLOLOL...Well not the exact same clothes but same style...Indie/rock, tidy/scruffy kind of thing...Am sure you know what i mean...Wonder if this means he can get off with wearing his holey kneed jeans again <g> MrsP had said she could just do his review by letter rather than a meeting but i insisted on a meeting...And am glad i did as the careers woman spoke a lot about university and gave me a pile of info about help for disabled students...Nothing that i didn't already know as such but a bit more clearly written than on the Direct Gov website...The direct gov website is general info and really pertains to students in england and not in scotland as such...So i also now know the name of the disability support women who G will be under...And she is contacting him next week to organise him going in to get a personalised tour...So he can be introduced to the lecturers he may get...That he knows what is what and where is where in the engineering block...And someone from the National Autistic Society will be meeting him as well...Ok he hasn't got a place yet but it is good to know that transition is already being implemented with a view to him getting a place...They did speak about him possibly doing the access course over the summer...Not because he needs to academically but to get him used to uni and so he can orientate himself...But after a call to uni today that isn't going to happen....A) because it's on a different campus and B) because the tour and regular liaising with the disability support we feel will be enough...G joined us for the latter part of the review...Well i say latter we actually stayed talking longer because we had kinda finished...The careers woman wanted to know what he had applied for and at what level...She hoped he had applied for the MEng rather than the BEng as he is well capable academically of doing the Masters...And it is the MEng he's applied for :o)  My main concern still is that he manages to make friends...They've already had one lad move on to uni from the base so MrsP should be able to advise on what equipment he may need that will be covered by the disabled student grant...Basically it is a grant and isn't means tested that is paid once during the course...Usually at the beginning but can be at other times if the disability starts whilst you are on the course...Equipment they need to help with their disability so they can do the course...Now any equipment they would need like any other student would...some of the bumph the careers woman gave me needs updating...There is stuff about travel and you can get help towards travel costs that pertain to your disability...In Scotland every student can claim back some of their travel expenses anyway...And in Scotland the free bus travel for OAP's anddisabled is already Scotland wide...And there is also a taxi card scheme for those that the bus isn't any good...So travel costs could be and should be moot here...Now this is an interesting one that many won't agree with...If you are a student and have a disability then you can claim either income support or incapactiy benefit over the long summer holidays...And housing benefit as well...You can claim income support or incapacity during term time but it will be affect by student loan if you are eligible for one...There are specific criteria for being eligible for the above if you are a disabled student...Some with a specific learning disability like dyslexia wouldn't get the above...As they are unlikely to get DLA of any kind and the other qualifying criteria...I'd rather G was in a part time summer job though...There was other stuff dicussed during and after the meeting but all in all it went really well :o) ...He's at a friend tonight straight after school so won't be home until later and am like ARRGGHHHH...As there are 3 letters sat here from the uni for him...Now i don't know if the letter he got from them during the christmas holidays was an acknowledgement for one of the courses only or for all 3...Ok am nosey and want to know if they are that he has an interview or an offer without an interview...Or they could be something else instead LOL.

No post from BGT yet and am now getting concerned...We don't know what time his slot is and we really need to know that...I tried phoning all 4 of the contact numbers but no replies so i presume they are out on the road in Manchester filming...One did say she is back in the office on monday so i will try first thing...Can't book a train without the time...Right painkiller time or is it anti inflammatory eeks.

Gonna keep my gob shut from now on

On teletext there is an article in the entertainment section about a bugging device being found at auditions in Manchester...Under the judges table and it is reckoned that it was done by a freelance journalist...So i better keep schtum from now on just in case i get in trouble...Although how they can expect people to keep quiet about getting through or not getting through is beyond me...It's damned hard i now know LOL...Besides those that get through to the live shows will want as much publicity as possible so they can gain support...And it's not like on X Factor where there is a period of several weeks of shows before the Live shows...With BGT it is shown over a week only...Ach well will find out IF he gets through what we are allowed and not allowed to do LOL...But am gonna be shhhhhhhhhhhh about it from now on

Not a lot

Am going to try and drive the car round the block later...The weather is downright miserable and i really don't want to take a bus to G's review tomorrow...It was bad enough taking one last night to his parents night...Our council love their speed bumps and every time the bus hit one my shoulder jarred...And it was a half hour journey of about 7 miles to get there last night...That's a lot of speed bumps and boy was my shoulder protesting when i got home...His review is at 10.30am and i want to drive to it...Besides his school where the base is is right next door to one of our Asda's and i want some bits and bobs...And i have things to return to Asda from before Christmas...Fingers crossed i can find the receipts...I couldn't for a dress i bought K and she so didn't like the dress...I ended up telling her about it and she said then she didn't like it but i didn't get it taken back...So by time i went along 2 weeks later it was reduced from £16 to £4...No way was i taking only £4 for it...I'd get more on Ebay lol...It may fit one of my nieces and if she likes it then she can have it...So knowing my luck these jeans will be reduced now to a much lower price and if i don't have the receipt i'll be scuppered again...Am sure i paid for them seperately though and that the receipt was in the bag...The dress was on my normal weekly shop which is why the receipt went walkies.

I just want to say that even though G is doing exceptionally well now it hasn't been an easy path to get to this stage...Far from it...It's been full of obstacles and trials along the way and because he is about to leave school at the summer a new journey is about to start...Daunting enough for anyone leaving school but more so for someone with autism/aspergers...I started preparing for this 3 years ago by going in and talking to the local universities...Back then i made up my mind that if possible and if he was going to apply to university that a local one would be best option...I knew a lad from the local autistic society who moved away from home for uni...He'd been accepted for cambridge but cambridge couldn't give the necessary support...St Andrews said they could so he started there...It was a complete and utter disaster...They didn't supply the support he needed and after 2 years of absolute hell his parents got him moved to Stirling uni...Where he did get the support he needed to do his course...Like G he was exceptionally bright and intelligent but socially and with day to day things he just couldn't look after himself...At least if G is at home for uni then i can still be steering him towards being as independant as possible socially and with everyday skills...This is the side that the majority of people just can't understand...And i agree it is difficult for 'normal' people to get around their heads that just because someone is academically fine and comes across as 'normal' doesn't mean that they are...Social skills isn't just about interacting with others...It's also the everyday tasks and everyday living we all take for granted...Simple things like going to the shops and buying food to eat, realising you need new clothes, making sure those clothes are clean to wear, making sure you get somewhere on time...G using the normal service bus as they tried last term has fallen apart...I actually didn't know for a few weeks that he was being taxied home every day as he got home around same time by using the bus...There had been some issues on the bus with other pupils from that school who live in town and he couldn't handle them...So he was put back on the taxi permanently...IF he gets a place on the Engineering course then that building is still in the city centre...And it is only about 10-15 mins walk from our flat...I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing to be honest...I am also dreading the transition as it is like starting again from scratch...G takes ages to make friends and talk to people...He is quite shy on top of the aspergers which isn't a good mix to be honest...Am not worried about the academic side it is the other side am worried about...And it would be the same whether he was leaving to be in a job or at uni...The uni here he has applied to have an excellent disability support section...They didn't use to but they do now...They are well clued up on aspergers and will do a lot to support him...At same time i don't want him standing out too much as being different...I just hope he can make friends with other students who will accept him for who he is and not what he is and treat him same as they would anyone else...And accept the quirks he has...Even getting a part time job is a bit of a struggle with G...He has so many texture and touch issues that it restricts what kind of part time job he can try to get...And his age has restricted him as well...He was quite happy to try and get a part time job in a shop that sold console and computer games...But you have to be 18 otherwise it breaks the license to sell many of the games as they are 18+...No it's not been easy it's been a struggle with both G and M but there is more light now at the far far end of that tunnel than there used to be...And i can begin to contemplate having a proper life back a bit...But i still wouldn't change the last several years even if it was possible to do so.

Parents Night

I had parents night for G tonight at his 'other' school...He only has half of his Advanced Higher Maths at his actual school...So am not gonna comment on them in order and am gonna comment on order of merit...With worst to best LOL...Maths teacher i saw last and he wasn't that interested in speaking to me and didn't have much to say...Now i knew that would be the case before i went in but a little interest would be nice...Other teachers who have said it's going to be a short but sweet chat have at least said a little bit...All this one said was that he's doing fine and that they have a NAB test next week and that was about it...I said that G seems to be struggling with maths this year as he has to know the formulae off by heart as they don't get them on a sheet...The look i got was as if to say 'if that's him struggling then goodness knows what he's like not struggling'...Never mind i had better responses from the other two teachers...It's not that G is doing badly at maths because he isn't, but even if they are doing well some decent feedback would be nice.

So Technological Studies teacher i saw 2nd and he was as enthusisatic as last year...There are 3 doing the Advanced Higher, some doing Higher and some doing Intermediates...What the teacher has done is organised an area in the room for the 3 lads doing the advanced higher to work together...He's not spoonfeeding them info unless he absolutely has to...And basically he is leaving them to their own devices...So they are learning to work as a team and problem solve as a team...That was basically the whole premise of the old sixth year studies and now the advanced higher...So it prepared the pupils for moving on to university...The 3 of them get on well together and are managing to do the work and find solutions without much intervention...G said one of the lads is hardly ever there so basically it is him and his mate...And they are quite happy with the arrangement...His teacher then asked me how G and M are compared to each other as he was interested in finding out more about the condition...I guess as he could have more pupils on the spectrum coming from the bases then it's good to learn...He is rather narked off that the appeal for G's higher failed but his grade for Advanced higher will supercede it anyways...And although he didn't say what grade he expects G to get he is expecting him to do really well.

So Physics teacher is who i saw first...Now G hasn't done physics since 2nd year...Up here you have to remember that we don't have sixth form college...Highers which are A levels are done over 1 year, usually in 5th year...Pupils stay on at school to do 5th and 6th year...Advanced highers are usually done in 6th year...Some who are fasttracked can do different levels of education earlier...In 6th year a minimum of 3 subjects are studied at advanced higher level and if a mixture of levels are being done usually a minimum of 3 or 4 subjects depending on the school....G is doing 2 subjects...Two at advanced higher and physics as a crash course Higher...G is the only one in his class who hasn't done the standard grade Physics...And the other lad from 6th year has done the Higher before i think and is trying to get a better grade this time around...His teacher is quite amazed with G...That he's so able and not done the subject for 3 years...He said G is a natural at physics and that he is the best in the class at it...That he is picking everything up so so easily...He whispered the top of the class bit at me as i said it's kinda open plan where i saw him so others could overhear...He seemed as pleased as the tech studies teacher to have G as a pupil :o)

So all in all a good parents night that should bode well for a good review meeting on fri...Am sure that MrsP will find something to moan about on friday though...Probs his hair and clothes again LOL...I've given up on her with that area...There's naff all wrong with his hair or his clothes...Ok he is eating his clothes again but they go in the bin as soon as i notice them chewed...Which is when am about to wash them...His hair is how HE wants it...Heavy blonde highlights and longish...His clothes are kinda indie/rock looking and trendyish...Basically if he has his hair the way she would like and dressed how she would like THEN he would stand out as different...As it is he fits in fine and doesn't stand out which is what she wants but is going about it in a rather strange way...As i've said before she's not that old...She's 53 so not an old fogey and she has 2 lads in their early 20s...She needs a lesson in what is current with teenagers for hair and clothing <g>

Opticians and taxis

Well i went to the opticians...And she had a damn good look inside my eye...Well she had a good look in them both but spent ages on the one i hurt...She said that sometimes if you knock your eye like i did then it can take several weeks to feel right again...but no detached retina or anything :o) ...Basically it must still be in shock...And i do still have 20/20 vision and she didn't seem too pissed off that i don't need reading glasses yet even though am technically OLD <g>  Thank goodness i don't need any as K's i bought her for her birthday cost a fortune...But they were bogof so she got two pairs from the designer range as it was cheaper than the student discount and having to buy 2 pairs...And she needed two different types of lenses...So am just waiting on letter or call from physio...The swelling is beginning to go down a bit :o) Still not managing to sleep right though.

M's taxi decided to not bother coming to pick him up today...I phoned the school at about 8.50am to see if his taxi had arrived minus him....His taxi wasn't there yet but i got phoned back at 9.05am to see if he'd been picked up...Which he hadn't been and he was getting more and more aigtated...And of course i can't drive yet...Anyways the deputy head said she'd phone the taxi firm to see what was going on...So at 9.20am the headteacher phoned...M's taxi had arrived at usual time but the deputy head had forgotten which taxi he was on...She'd ordered another taxi to come an fetch him...The firm were blaming the school or anyone but themselves...Now last week his taxi for his SEN school turned up EVERY DAY...This was despite him being on a taxi for the other school on a thurs and being at college on the fri...On fri i told the escort (it's a stand in one) that M ONLY gets picked up on that taxi on MON, TUES and WED...His escort has broken her leg and they don't have a regular driver...But hey it's the schools fault NOT the firms according to the firms office...They NEVER take the blame even when it is THEIR fault...A taxi turned up about 5 mins after headteacher phoned me...I went down with M as by that time he was in a bit of a state...The driver was really nice and he said he wondered why he'd been called to come to us...He'd already been sent to pick up a pupil who was NOT going in today...He said his office are useless LOL...And tonight instead of arriving home at around 3.45-3.50pm he got back home at 4.25pm so goodness knows what is going on...I think tomorrow i will phone the firm and remind them to come and fetch M for school...He has maths tomorrow and is picked up from his SEN school at 9.10am to go to the mainstream school...He'll go ballistic if he misses his maths and so will i and his SEN school...Not my only beef with taxis...Here we have one of the most expensive taxi rates in the whole of the UK...Taxis in London are a heck of a lot cheaper than here...Yesterday i really needed to do a major food shop...None of my friends could take me so i thought i'll go to Sainsburys as it's close to here...So taxi comes to get me...£3 to sit your bum in the flipping car, £1 charge for phoning to get a taxi and then 80p was how much it had gone over the £3 standing charge...It's less than a mile FFS...Of course i needed a taxi to take me home as well so that was another £4.80...I let the driver who took me home keep the 20p change because he did at least load and unload my shopping for me...Anyways with prices that high they don't need a flipping tip.

One for Stuart

A store that sells new husbands has opened in Ipswich , where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

'That's nice', she thinks, 'but I want more.'

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.

'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.

'Oh, my god!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!'

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, Have a Strong Romantic Streak, and can cook.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store in Ipswich.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex, have big boobs, and always ask their husbands if they would like a cold beer while watching Sky Sports.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited.

New date

After another fitfull night of sleep i managed to fall back asleep after M left for school...Luckily i woke up in just enough time to put my cream on for getting my injection an hour later...Oh nausea is a side effect according to the blurb and you're supposed to mention to the doctor or hospital if you get nausea from it...Am not mentioning it yet though as i really want this to work...But i fell sicky again and dunno if it's the injection, the codydramol or the anti inflammatory...They can all have nausea as side effect...It was horrible using the bus today as the wind has been pretty bad to say the least...I HATE not being able to drive LOL...On the way back home i went into the council office to talk to this woman in the education department...The one who told the TV lot i hadn't enclosed any photos...Lucky me had back up in the receptionist on that floor...Job share is all well and good if they communicate right with each other and don't contradict each other is conclusion i have come to...As i said i phoned on the friday to see if i would need new letter from the school, new form and new letter from the GP...And the woman who works at the end of the week said no everything would be fine they'd just change the dates on the existing stuff...HAHAHA that didn't work with the woman who works the first half of the week...Not only had i not put in photos but she contacted M's school yesterday for a new letter...But i didn't have to get one the school emailed one down to them...So today receptionist phoned through and said my name and that was it phone woman said she'd be right through...As soon as she came through the swing doors she said did i have the photos...No hello, no introduction, nowt polite just did i have the photos...So being polite i said hello and yes i had MORE photos as i had handed in 2 last thursday...And the receptionist then said 'that's right, everything was handed over and got put in an envelope and that included the photos, which she had cut up to put in...So THEN the woman said oh hello am X and they have disappeared...And she asked did i have more then in case they couldn't find the missing ones...And she was very nice after that...I asked if she knew the new date then seens as they asked for a new letter from the school...I also told her i had phoned to check and got told i wouldn't need one, which she said yes we did...I don't need a new letter from GP though :o) And yes she had the new date...So now his audition is on 28th of january and is in a different venue...Now it will be in the Clyde Auditorium aka The Armadillo...Right next to the SECC...Fingers crossed that i am able to drive by then...It's easy to find and there is a huge car park that is for the SECC, Armadillo and all the other buildings in the complex...And it only costs a fiver to park for the whole time you are there :o) Then again if it's weather like today we'll be going by train...But even that could cause problems if it's weather like we've experienced today.

Forth road bridge was closed to high sided vehicles and then closed full stop due to stuff from a painters gantry falling down...The Tay bridge, Erskine (glasgow), Friarton (perth), the bridges up by Inverness and further north, were ALL either closed fully or to high sided vehicles today...The ONLY major bridge open as normal today in all of Scotland was the Kincardine bridge which ended up with 15 mile tailbacks...K said some of the large on-street bins in her boyfriends street had been blown over...And his street is quite sheltered...How any in my street weren't blown over i have no idea...I haven't organised for my telly ariel to be looked at but it wouldn't have been today...Too dangerous to be up on the roof...My signal has been wavering since about midnight on my telly...Mind you am now getting channel 4 a bit better so am wondering if my ariel has been blown almost back into position again LOL...Weathermen said it was 70mph here today and worse down south and 90mph in Dundee...I got an all day ticket for the bus so i could hop on and off any bus as i was scared walking about in case i got blown over with the wind and did end up with broken shoulder LOL...I managed to get a slightly earlier appointment for the opticians...Monday morning now instead of next thurs...Car's booked in for MOT <gulp> ...My garage man is in a right good mood LOL...He gave me a kiss for new year!!!!! and didn't say 'you're always in the wars' like he usually does...The woman who works for him said shhhh he has come back from his round world cruise in a good mood so they're all making the most of it LOL...If am still unable to drive when the MOT happens i'll drop the keys off and they'll send someone round to pick it up :o)

Big sis phoned her pressie arrived today...Amazing as it was only posted late yesterday afternoon...And she loves it although i got told off for sending her anything...She does know i made them like :o) The necklace is about 20 inches long...I don't like the usual 16 inch necklaces as they always seem a bit tight around the neck unless you're either a size zero or a kid...The parcel from the states has still not arrived...Ex mother in law is going to give it until fri to appear then get tracking number and details off my ex and contact parcelforce...I really think that perhaps now he really should just send money or online gift vouchers instead but at same time i'd prefer he sent an actual present as it's more personal.

You know i sound like a walking disaster area LOL...Am NOT honestly just that when one thing happens i usually end up with more and then nowt for months.

Well i found them funny :o)

Well these may not be exactly PC but i nicked them off the General News board and i found them quite funny

The Future of Nursery Rhymes

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
The structure of the wall was incorrect
So he won a grand with Claims Direct.

It's Raining, It's Pouring.
Oh shit, it's Global Warming.

Mary had a little lamb
her father shot it dead.
Now it goes to school with her
between two chunks of bread.

Simple Simon met a pie man going to the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the pie man
"What have u got there?"
Said the pie man unto Simon
Pies you dickhead.

Mary had a little lamb
it ran into a pylon.
10,000 volts went up its arse
and turned its wool to nylon.

Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie
kissed the girls and made them cry.
When the boys came out to play
he kissed them too cause he was gay.

Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
And planned to do some kissing.
Jack made a pass
and grabbed her ass
Now two of his teeth are missing.

Mary had a little lamb
Its fleece was white and wispy.
Then it caught Foot and Mouth Disease
And now it's black and crispy

Docs and some rubbish pics

Excuse the quality of the pics but my camera is not working well just now...I need to get it either fixed or replaced as it is under guarantee...The bottom two are close ups...One of the earrings and the other of the necklace...To give a sense of size the small red and clear swarovski crystals are 4mm, the other clear one is 8mm...All the other components are sterling silver...Even the wire the beads on the earrings are threaded onto is silver...They're not a bright red but siam red...The heart on the necklace is slightly bigger than the ones on the bracelet and earrings...And they are my big sisters belated birthday pressie as i only got them posted today.

Been to the GP today as i couldn't get an appointment yesterday...My shoulder is pretty badly swollen up...He's given me prescription anti inflammatory as he said ibuprofen ain't gonna have any effect...He's still shocked it's not broken and it still hurts like anything when it gets touched even very gently...I can move my arm towards me but i can't move away from me without it hurting badly...Am still not allowed to drive which is a real pain with the boys being back at school and therefor back at the 2 clubs they go to and M to respite...I need to phone respite place tomorrow and make sure he gets transport on sunday...GP has also written to physio so i can get physio on my shoulder...He asked me what A&E said and did...Told him they x-rayed me and there was no break...That the doctor there then said she could prescribe me something but i told her he already had...So she looked at the prescription, said they will do and that was it...He's not impressed....My GP likes thoroughness from hospital or clinics he refers his patients to just like he is thorough with his patients in the surgery...Oh iforgot the woman in A&E did tell me to move it about and exercise it...Yeah great idea NOT...I've hurt my shoulder before cept it was my scapula...You NEED to do the proper exercises or you can damage it further, hence why we have physio facilities DUH...He looked into my eye but said i really need to see an optician about it...Which is ok as i have an appointment for next week with optician...Who knows by then it may not feel so wonky...Opticians have facility to be able to look right into the back of the eye with their special machines...It's not double vision it just feels weird, heavy and sort of blurry...Back at the surgery tomorrow to see the nurse for my next injection UGH...Must remember it's the right side tomorrow LOL

Had another call from BGT today...Apparently there wasn't any photos in with the forms and letters to the LEA...I assured her there was as i handed them in in person last thursday...But i will go down tomorrow and check why they are missing...I even had to ask for a scissors to cut the photos off to put in the envelope...The woman took everything from me and popped them in the envelope...That was both letters, the two passport sized photos and the form...I asked her if they knew when the audition had been rearranged for...She thinks it is the 28th of january but not certain...28th will do fine as it is a monday...Not sure if K can manage that day but well hey ho if she can't...G's study leave for his prelims starts that day so he won't have to skive off school...M is just hoping that it's not on the 24th as he is singing at the Burns night again this year...No he isn't singing any scottish song or anything by Rabbie Burns...He's singing the Take That song he is singing at the audition LOL...My older sis is worried about M being made to look stupid and being made a fool of by being on this...I really don't believe he has been put through for the comedy value when televised...They asked me too many questions about autism and how they could best cater for him for him not to have been put through on merit that he can actually sing

I'll be a good girl and do as am told

Right i know when am beaten LOL...I honestly am going to see GP tomorrow IF i can get an appointment...We're not supposed to phone until 8.30am but i'll be trying a couple of mins earlier and claiming well it says 8.30 on my clock <g> Hey that worked 2 weeks ago when i saw him last...It was 8.28am but i mean FFS how jobs worth can you get telling someone to call back in 2 mins time...By the time they have told you that it's then 8.29 FGS...And Jane my shoulder was x-rayed 2 weeks ago and i saw the x-rays and they were clear and no breaks...What is cheesing me off is nearly 8 years ago i fell on bad ice on our pavement...Now IF i was one of these people that sue for slightest little thing i could have had a case against the council for not gritting our street for 3 weeks...The ice by the time i fell was a good 6 inches deep and compacted on the pavement...I slipped and fell and damaged same shoulder then...And i was at A&E straight away...That time it was my scapula that was damaged and it was part way down my back and they couldn't tell clearly if it was actually broken or not...BUT i was given far stronger painkillers...Actually that's when i first came across tramadol...OMG never again...ONE pill and i didn't know what universe i was in let alone planet or where i actually lived and what my name was...Am now down on my medical notes as allergic to tramadol ROFL...But the replacement painkillers were stronger and i was sent for physio for 6 months...This time my lovely GP gave me painkillers but left the rest to A&E to sort out...I need something stronger and i really think i will need physio again and that is what is cheesing me off...Mind you i have been trying gentle exercise so it doesn't stiffen up but you really need advice on what exercise to do so you don't make things worse...Despite what Cheekydimples aka K will say i am NOT doing any heavy lifting...I AM leaving that to the boys...Am NOT toally STUPID lol...Crikey this has been one of the few times they will do anything without the teenage grunt and moan...My eye is worrying me more as i can cope with capput shoulder on stronger painkillers and the correct exercises...I know it will take time to heal.

Mum phoned this afternoon because she was bored LOLOLOL...Usually it is the other way round....And to remind me it was big sis's birthday...Iswear my mum reckons am senile and has done for a few years...She doesn't remind either big sis or little sis of anyones birthdays, only me she does that to...Not long back from asda where i just had to buy more stuff for my friends new baby boy...Well it's so cute and was begging to be bought...Little long sleeved t-shirt tops, both white and one with lots of different coloured narrow stripes, the other with 'Small Guy BIG Attitude' written on it...And a little blue hooded top with 'Little buy LOUD' written on it...I will need their BFPO addy so i can post the stuff over to them...I'll know on tues how badly affected with the downs and hole in his heart he is...But as they left her to go full term and he arrived on time then the medics can't have been too worried about him :o)

I've finished the bracelet and the earrings...I did start a necklace on friday night but changed my mind on what am gonna do...So i will get it done later and it doesn't take long...Jan asked about where i got my components from...Just now i have bought from John Lewis and a new local bead shop...Before years ago when i did craft fairs before internet was common i got my components mail order in bulk from a shop in Brighton and one in London...If i do try to start selling them again then i will order in bulk online...Buying from John Lewis and this bead shop is a tad pricey for me then selling...And making jewellery like this really isn't difficult at all...Decent jewellery pliers, some tweezers and all the components is all you need really...It is fiddly though and some people will find that hard or just can't be bothered with the fiddliness...Oh and imagination for how you want to organise the beads on the wire or thread.

Now DreamyRiver who some of you know from leaving comments on my journal and from when she had her own journal is emigrating on tues...Lucky her and her partner and her 3 children are off to sunny Brisbane to live...I wish them the best of luck and hope they settle in and have a wonderful and happy experience living there...I've met them both a few times and they are a wonderful couple :o)  I wish i had been able to go and see them before they naffed off to the other side of the world...But hey ho when M becomes rich and famous HAHAHA he can pay for me to go over and visit them there and have a nice holiday LOLOLOL...Seriously Lynne and Kev am dead jealous and i do wish you all the best

Mums home

Mums home :o) To her own house and i can tell she's annoyed with me...What i said to her is what everyone else has told her <g> I said well PLEASE LISTEN to us and don't scare us again like you did last weekend...Typically she's more concerned about me...Said i will be fine eventually and that she NEEDS to actually TAKE CARE of herself...In saying that i am defo going to phone and try see my lovely GP on monday...Am sure by now if my shoulder wasn't that bad it shouldn't be as painful as it still is...Also my eye which stopped being painful is feeling WEIRD...That's only word i can use as am not sure what is happening...It still feels 'heavy' although not painful...Also if i close my left eye i don't seem to be seeing as well out of the right one...My eyesight was perfectly alright before i fell...Actually it is feeling like i have a permanent migraine in it without the pain...I do have an opticians appointment for 17th jan but am beginning to think i should have perhaps kept the one on the 27th dec...My shoulder is swelling more now...All down right side of neck to half way along shoulder is swollen up...So i do think seeing GP is defo required <sigh>

My bureau was delivered today and i have nowhere to put it LOL...I can't clear out the alcove that it is going into until my shoulder is better...I know i have 2 strapping lads to help BUT i won't let them...This is MY crafting stuff and I NEED to take it out and off the shelving unit and then put into the bureau where I WANT it put...IF i don't do it then i won't know where anything is...Speaking of which i have made a swarovski crystal bracelet for big sis and will be making a matching necklace and earrings tonight...I just hope she likes them and doesn't think they are too 'young'...All the components are either swarovski crystal or sterling silver...Maybe i should start selling them again as well...But they wouldn't be cheap or not as cheap as people would like...If my camera doesn't play silly sods on me i'll try taking a pic of the whole set once am finished and post it for critical discussion <g>

Postponed

Grrrrrrr after dragging M into town to get photos done and to then go and hand in to the education section all the letters, photos, copy of birth certificate and the form we get a call saying that the audition has been postponed...I said to the guy that i'd just handed all the stuff in but that it is now up to them to get it all changed...The theatre have just informed the tv company today there is a problem...It's not available for those 2 days next week...Considering that next weeks dates were mentioned on the original letter for the first audition then it's not been booked at short notice...So someone somewhere has cocked up...The theatre have not been cooperative according to blokey from telly company...He apologised and said a letter will be sent and the new date will be near the end of january...Flipping annoying as i have had to organise having my monthly injection early and i cancelled G's review meeting...Luckily i hadn't bought our train tickets yet...Ok it means i should be fine to drive by then although i still think i will take the train...Hope i haven't got to get more letters and fill in another form...M is rather cheesed off to put it mildly but he'll calm down am sure...Blokey did double check that we didn't have any specific requirments for his performance...I said well he's singing acapella so as long as there is a microphone...Guess they will have some from next week who would have had specific staging requirments...Wonder which divvy at the theatre went and double booked it and then didn't realise until today that they'd done so...Wouldn't wanna be in their shoes that's for sure...At least by then M's cough he has will have gone away...He NEVER gets anything going and he caught my cough and sniffle and won't take anything for it

I spoke to mum yesterday and she seemed fine...She's being started back on her diabetic medication tomorrow...And if her blood sugars are stable then she will be allowed home tomorrow...But my sisters would rather she is kept in until after they know she is stable again on the meds...Which i agree with...My older sister got such a hell of a fright on sun and then again on the mon that i don't want her going through that again...Me am so desperate to be able to drive up to see mum that i tried taking only 1 painkiller instead of 2 and 6 hours apart instead of 4 yesterday....BAD move as today i have barely been able to move my shoulder...My hip is a lot better though and well i thought i was better enough to cope with lower doseage...Will aim for next weekend now instead...I just want to see mum as even though i live like 70 miles away i still got a fright with what happened on sun and on mon.

rubbish on telly and rubbish weather but nowt new for starting the year with lol

Just a quickie Happy New Year to everyone...However you celebrated i hope you enjoyed yourselves...I really wasn't bothered much about celebrating this year so we didn't do anything last night except stay in and watch the STV celebrations from Edinburgh then M watched the Take That gig...We got it around an hour later than it was shown in England...The fireworks over Edinburgh castle looked spectacular.

Today it has been very rainy, very damp, very wet and very miserable...And the telly has been dire to say the least...So just the usual weather to start the year with LOL...My big sis phoned typically whilst i was in the loo and the boys weren't awake...And that was about midday LOL...Phoned her back and she'd been to see mum in the morning...She said mum looked better today and she was going back this evening...Phoned my little sis and a couple of pals to wish them happy new year...I'd phone my big bruv but as he's never seen fit to give me his phone number after he moved then i can't, he's also ex directory...And i doubt he has been over to see mum at all...We'd already phoned K dead on midnight...They were having a quiet new year just the two of them and she is having a party tomorrow for some friends of theirs...Got the boys to phone their father as i reckoned he'd not bother phoning them like last new year...My ex bro in law is up here for hogmanay so i guess we will get a visit at some point.

Little sis phoned at tea time to say she'd popped over to see mum...The hospital is about 10 mins walk from their house but she'll have driven over as weather is just as manky up there...Mum is doing as she is told and actually eating...She has been taken off her diabetic medication completely for now until she is stabilised...Once she is eating properly again and over the bug then they will reintroduce her medication...Sis said mum looked well and was a lot chirpier and talkative...She will be down in the dumps a lot on fri but my sisters will have warned the staff...That will be 21 years since my dad died and it still feels like only yesterday really...But it is big sisters birthday on sun and my youngest nephews next tues...And we have Ms audition to look forward to next week as well

Have a prosperous and healthy 2008 :o)
