Happy New Year

Want to thank everyone who sent a Christmas card both by email and by royal mail...Very much appreciated by me and the kids :o)  I've not written much in here as it still hurts a lot to type at the mo...I took K out shopping on saturday as i had promised her that a few weeks back...She loves Primark and they don't have one either in Edinburgh or Livingstone...So me, K and my best pal went out on sat to the shops...This of course was a great concession on my part not because of my injuries but because i utterly loathe and hate shopping...Sorry girls for letting the side down but i do...We made sure we had plenty of stops to sit down and also we did stop to have lunch...What really narked me off was later in the day when i was on my own some inconsiderate idiotic young couple decided to knock me down...See i had stopped in my tracks to let an old gent coming in opposite direction through...The gap where we were wasn't big enough for two people to pass side by side...This couple pushing a big heavy pushchair were behind me...They shouted excuse me in an offhand manner at me...I said i was waiting for the gent to pass first so to just wait...They saw my arm in the sling and that i was limping along...Soon as the old gent passed through i went to move and this lot rammed into me with their pushchair knocking me over into a glass wall...They deliberately rammed me with it and didn't say sorry or anything...I shouted something at them and the bloke turned and gave me a torrent of abuse...By the time i joined up with K and my pal again i was barely able to move and i was in tears...They wanted me back up to A&E again but i refused...I was going to try and see my GP again today but i slept through my alarm...I'll be ok eventually but some people are just so inconsiderate and don't give a toss about anyone else...And what a charming example to show your toddler sat in a pushchair NOT.

At least K got new clothes and new undies...I bought more make up, new jacket, new bag and new shoes...The shoes don't fit just now but they will once i lose some of the weight i have put on...Ok am not one for shoes, boots or footwear in general but i do prefer wearing rather high heels if i can...And well these are probs far too young for me but sod it...Half metal stiletto heel, buckles and studs all over them LOL...My mum will loathe them, my sisters will say am too old for them, they're not Ks cup of tea but fine for me she said...And you know what i don't CARE what anyone thinks i love them...And it's donkeys years since i could say that about any pair of shoes i have bought...I have decided i will see about getting a T Shirt printed up for next week...And get a banner made as well...I'd love for M to get to the LIVE shows but if he doesn't at least he did try...And i've been rather fed up of professionals and others over the last year saying he has to be realistic...What do they mean by realistic????? WHY the heck can't he have dreams and ambitions like any regular teenager???? WHY the heck should so called professionals think that just because he is autistic that he has to settle for less than others???? Yes he's autistic and that comes with problems and stuff BUT it doesn't mean he's brain dead or thick or stupid....He's not interested in doing this to become rich and famous...He's doing it because he LOVES music and he can actually sing...When i expressed a bit of annoyance about work experience for him i was told you must be realistic...But why can't he get to try work experience in a place like local radio, local tv or local arts place like a regular pupil can...I don't see why he has to be shoved off to working in the school office or with the school janitor or in office or with janitor in one of the other education places here...Mind you with these auditions the school have been behind him 100%

Am doing nowt for hogmanay or new years day as such...I wish i was allowed to drive again so i could jump in car tomorrow and go visit mum...She was unwell on boxing day and has been unwell since...To the point where yesterday she had a hypo :o(  And today as ended up being taken into the small cottage hospital in the town near her :o(  So they can sort out her diabetic pills, her eating and her sickness and diahorrea...I feel so bad and guilty that i can't be up there...Hopefully by the weekend i may be able to drive again or we can get a train or bus...I bought a huge, massive book for my youngest nephew for his birthday but it will be far too heavy to post...It's one of those kind that are about 2 feet long by 1 foot wide...All about the cosmos and it was supposed to be £50 and i got it for £15...My older sisters birthday is later this week as well...I need to get the necklace and bracelet made for her that i want to do...That can be posted though...Right enough typing as am beginning to ache again...Got tons to do and feel too knackered to do any of it...Best pal took me to asda and sainsburys and the boys helped me put everything away...One load of washing is in and there are loads of dishes to be done...Will rope the boys in to help with that in a wee bit.

Have a guid hogmanay tonight...Lang may yer lum reek in 2008...However you celebrate have a lovely New Years Day tomorrow

Saddo mum or sensible mum you decide <g>

G is back to heavily highlighted blonde, K is all trimmed and my hair is back to nice and short again...G doesn't need glasses though i can never understand why as the sight in his left eye is cack to say the least...Got myself a nice old fashioned proper bureau today in 2nd hand furniture shop...It will go in the alcove opposite side of chimney breast to here...Will be fab for all my craft stuff, can use one drawer for all my different papers and card, the rest for all the boxes of bits n bobs...It gets delivered next fri...I can then reclaim the shelving unit for my dragon collection :o) ...It hurt like hell getting hair done but don't care i could have done worse last fri...Am still alive albeit pretty battered and bruised but it could have been so different...Am just more irritated at not being able to drive...All the sales are on and i can't bus around the furniture stores to look at and buy beds for the boys or for flooring for the hall...Picked up the letter from GP that we need for M's audition...Speaking of which and main reason for this entry...Shall i get a nice new outfit just in case am picked up on TV camera (pray am not) or be official saddo mum type...And get a T Shirt printed up with his pic on it and GO MIKEY in big letters????

Oh and please someone slap me i got forced into girlie stuff today...New make up and hairdryer and hair straighteners...ARRGGHHHHHHHH...I never blow dry my hair and it's been straightened i think twice by K and the once today in hairdressers...Do i have to become girlie at grand old age of almost 45????

Still sore but surviving

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas day...I managed to get through it JUST...Someone lock me up and don't let me out on the lead up to Christmas Day next year please...The bruise on my eye is coming out more, my eye is itching like mad so more bruising to appear yet...My painkillers are working kinda...Well the pain i sless than it was but still mega sore...My mum adores the glass ship she got from K...She hasn't stopped going on about it...I got K a mini donut maker, clothes that don't fit LOL, hair straighteners (not GHDs but tresemme ones that were £30 instead of £60), taking her girlie clothes shopping, and she also got a dragon...A gorgeous dragon i want to keep LOL...He is so beautiful...It's the 2006 year piece that is sold to members of the dragon collecters club...Got it on ebay, brand new and boxed, never been used...He weighs a ton as he is metal painted a gorgeous jade colour with loads of crystals on him...I will try and get a pic...The boys gave her a pewter fairy who is speaking to a tiny dragon sat on a toadstool...Will speak more about today tomorrow sometime, i need to not type much as it hurts

Merry Christmas

Firstly a very Merry Christmas to everyone :o) Hope you all have a lovley day with family and friends...Me well i did drive up north yesterday and i did make it back home...K wanted me to phone NHS24 and get to out of hours GP last night but it was 10pm before we got home and i really didn't want to end up sitting and waiting up there mega late...I promised i would try and see GP today...So took M to respite then went to my GP...He was shocked i was able to drive...WHOOPS...He wrote a letter and ordered me to A&E to be Xrayed as he thought i had broken my clavicle...So took the car home via a friends and she took me up...It isn't broken :o) Not that it makes much difference as you can't plaster a broken shoulder LOL...They only x-rayed my shoulder as my hip which is in agony they reckon is just battered and bruised...My eye the same and they don't like x-raying the head unless absolutly necessary...GP said the bone round my eye socket will be bruised and swollen internally...It feels weird actually i just wanna close it all the time...Am on co-dydramol for the pain...I've hardly slept so i hope i do manage to sleep better tonight...I need to clean up the living room and the kitchen can wait until the morning...The kids have done a fair bit of dishes and stuff though :o) Oh and am banned from driving for a while :o(  Must admit i was driving with my seatbelt going under my armpit as it hurt too much on my shoulder LOL...K bought me some alcohol as part of my Christmas LOLOLOL...Won't be allowed that either...Fortunately we're having individual chicken breasts tomorrow which i stuff with cheese and wrap in bacon...Doesn't take long and easy to prepare...I bought frozen roast potatoes...Veg i bought pre-pepared kind today...Desserts are nice simple ones (mainly ice cream kinds)  So i'll be ok and not have to do too much and can rest a bit...Still not quite what i expected of Christmas day but hey ho.

The forms arrived from telly peeps this morning...So i phoned the education dept section i need to stamp it...They said on friday to come in today...Just as well i phoned first as none of the people who can do it were in...Ordered a letter from our GP as have to have one...Although the telly peeps said had to be with the LEA by 2nd jan if possible his won't be until the 3rd as that is when they reopen...We're not at the SECC this time, we're in one of the glasgow theatres...Am gonna buy train tickets as it will be easier and i've been told this particular theatre isn't far from the train station...It will either be cheaper or around same price as cost of diesel and parking...The televising dates are on the website...We will known on the 10th if he is through to actual LIVE shows straight away...Going to have a wee lie down.

Trips lol

Ok went shopping last night to asda with my bestest pal...First asda didn't have the telly i liked in stock...They tried phoning one of the other ones but they couldn't find anyone in the telly dept to ask...So went did normal shopping and on way out i went and asked at customer service what time the other one closed at...Bearing in mind this was around 11.20pm and the other asda would be roughly 4 or 5 miles possibly 6 away...After about 10 mins they found the telly i was after and it was the last one in stock...So asked them to hold it and i'd be right there as they closed at midnight...Lovely drive in freezing fog along the dual carriageway through major roadworks that aren't properly lit...FUN!!!!!...Anyway i got my telly and there was 10% off it so cheaper than i thought :o) It's only a wee 26" LCD one but it is HD and comes with freeview built in...I now need a new ariel though cos the freeview is cack and to be honest my reception has been going cack since oct anyways...Channel five has all but disappeared and it's a Ch5 ariel and been fine for the last 7 or 8 years...Am pleased with my telly i didn't want a massive one and it is my treat...Dropped my pal off and i got home just after midnight...Got out of the car and started unloading stuff...Had the boys waiting at the bottom door to carry stuff up to the flat...And i tripped and went sprawling over the doorstep :o(  Nice old victorian tenement double step doorstep...I cracked my right eye off the top step, cracked my right shoulder somewhere, bashed my right thigh, knee and shin and both ankles are iffy too...No i didn't go to A&E...I have a lovely black eye for christmas...I did drive down to collect K and am stiff as a board...Stone cold sober as well so can't even use an excuse of having one too many...It probs wasn't the best idea to drive today but i want my darling daughter home for Christmas...It was cold when we left, around 2 degrees but once past Stonehaven the temp dropped and was -2 degrees for some of the time...Angus was pretty horrendous for driving in but beautiful at same time...The frost on the fields, hills and trees was magical...The frost/ice on the roads wasn't magical at all...It started to rain as well but temp was so low it was freezing on the windscreen...I had to stop to de-ice the windows and the wiper blades...I had to stop later to clean the windscreen because it was filthy and the washers were frozen up and not working...I wasn't the only one though and thank goodness it is dual carriageway and not motorway to Perth...Otherwise me and everyone elsae would have had to stop on the hard shoulder to be able to continue on...A blizzard would have been better LOL...It was positively carribean in livingstone being 6 degrees LOL...I know the car will just get dirty again driving to mums tomorrow BUT i am going to have to take it through a car wash first thing tomorrow...It's supposed to be white but with the weather today it is black and ugh...Bit like my eye ROFL...Seriously the bone of the eye socket is mega sore so i will go to GP on monday...I need to see GP on monday anyway because i need to order a letter for M as the education dept need one before they will stamp the licence form thingy...Anyways got 2 swarovski crystal bracelets to make

Busy busy busy i need a lie down lol

Stars up there for my wee star :o)

Well it was all go here today...Last night we were too excited for me to get my pressies all glass painted...SO they are now going to be next years birthday pressies...Which meant i had to go into town to buy pressies LOL...I had to go buy vouchers for GAME for their 2 cousins on their dads side anyways...Am shattered now...Got my mum a gorgeous swarovski crystal butterly sat on a frosted crystal leaf...Got book tokens for my 2 nieces and nephew...Still can't find an astronomy book that is suitable to go with his telescope...You really wouldn't think it was so hard to find a book that is just star maps...Like northern and southern hemispheres and bits about the major constellations but it is...Will get my 2 sisters and oldest niece some posh bath stuff in Asda tonight...I bought myself a large george foreman grill as it was half price in poundstretchers....And am gonna treat myself to a nice shiny new sparkly LCD flat telly tonight...My telly died in october and am using the one K had and the remote control for it is capput...I bought one of them universal ones and it's capput now too...So i bought another and i can't get it to work LO...The city centre was hoaching (busy) and a nightmare.

I had went into town mainly to go into the education dept office in main council building...Because M is still school age he needs permission to perform on telly...I also had to get a letter from the school giving permission...So i need 2 photos for the performance licence and a copy of his birth certificate...I have the letter from school safe and sound...As soon as i get the forms through i will fill my bit in and get council to stamp it when they reopen on 3rd and send off special next day delivery...Unlike the government i DO PAY forregistered post <g> His school are all well excited :o) If he gets through to the actual LIVE shows then we will want as much publicity as possible locally...And as his school is an SEN one that won't be hard to arrange...But not going to get too far ahead of ourselves...They asked a lot of questions last night to M...Then the guy asked to talk to me and he basically repeated what he'd asked M...M ain't very good on the phone...The guy also asked a lot about autism and how it affects M...And i did tell him the truth...And how much music has helped him overcome a heck of a lot and helps him cope so much...I can see the 'sob' story now ARRGGHHH...It's not, it's inspirational and am sticking to that :o)

Went to that funeral today...Poor kidi just wanted to take her in my arms and keeping hugging her...And i have ORDERED her round on Christmas day, so she is going to come...I'll need to phone her over the weekend and find out what she can and can't eat...I know she can't have milk or milk stuff cos of severe lactose intolerance...But am happy to buy in stuff she likes for her...I better go and try and warm up...Heating is on but it is baltic here today <shiver> Think i'd prefer snow it would be warmer then LOL

Eeks less than a week to go and who's so not ready

It was the Christmas service at their local church for Ms school on monday...He allowed me to go along for the first time ever LOL...He was playing the drums accompanying the music teacher for all but one of the christmas carols/songs...The one he didn't play on was the one his music group did...One of the other lads played drums on it and M was singing...He had a solo in the middle...There was a traditional nativity play included and that was done by the little ones...His school like many SEN schools in Scotland is from 5-19...Half way through they stopped so that people could take photographs of the little ones if they wished to...Before they went back to sit down as they were becoming restless...One wee lad was even dressed as the donkey :o) M also did a reading as did many of the older ones in his class...All the kids were fantastic :o) ...The minister in his sermon reminded everyone to not forget the most important thing during all the hustle abd bustle of Christmas and that is that it is to celebrate the birth of Jesus...After the service we went back to the school for tea/coffee and biscuits and for the raffle...G won a tealight holder and M won a kiddies magnadoodle thing...Which he declined to accept but i took it LOL...It will do nicely for my best pals little ones...One of the staff making the draw won a voucher for a hairdressers which included a massage...She put it back into the draw...Then said afterwards she should have just given it to me as it is the hairdresser i use ROFL...Ce la vie...My ex mother in law can get the tealight holder LOL

I have felt so sick since sunday...Not been physically sick but keep feeling like am about to throw up and then get abdominal aches...Don't know if it's a reaction to the medication or not...I refuse to look it up as i can put up with it and it could settle...Or is sickness feeling a menopausal symptom???? I dunno and well Stuart won't know ROFL so he needn't answer...I feel worse when i eat but i will get over it...Just it's set me back again with getting ready for Christmas...I have spent today gutting my living room and getting some decorations up...Tomorrow i need to gut Ms bedroom, then glass paint in the evening...Am just going to do mums, both my sisters and my 2 nieces for now...My two friends i am doing things for can wait until after Christmas...One is away in germany over Christmas anyway...My nieces friend who also auditioned for BGT hasn't heard from them at all...Which could be a good sign for M and a bad sign for her...Or she may have just got through regardless...Mind you as she was also singing then they'd need to get clearance for her...His music teacher is very hopefull as getting clearance for copywrite isn't cheap...She is also trying to see if she can find somewhere to get backing tracks and will phone me at home to let me know

I made cards and posted them out...Am sorry but i haven't sent any to some i sent to last year...I lost the addresses and no-one responded back for me to send in time...I bought a couple of strings of tiny fake tree lights for doing cards with...But they were too far spaced apart for my idea i had...Which was to have a tree shape cut out of the centre with the 'lights' strung across...So am using them as strings to peg our cards to instead...At least they're not wasted LOL...I have presents for taxi escorts and drivers to wrap tonight...Usually they get turkish delight but although i bought all the ingredients i didn't get any made...It takes forever to make it and you have to make a seperate batch for each flavour...As the flavouring and colouring is put in during the making process...So i can't make then divvy up and flavour...The weekend will be a nightmare...On sat we go to collect K...Forth road bridge has roadworks on it EVERY WEEKEND with delays of up to 90 mins <sigh> ...On the way back we will literally stop, hand over pressies, get pressies back and drive off home from their grans...I want home before tea time...On sunday we go up to mums and my 2 sisters...On Christmas eve M is in respite playscheme...So i'll drop him off and go to Sainsburys on way home...Then i need to go to Asda...Or i may go to the 24 hour Asda on sunday night LATE...I do have the chicken in the freezer and some chocolate logs...Erm that's it...Need roast tatties (i cheat and buy frozen), profiteroles, mini eclairs, veggies and erm everything else...Oh and possibly a new telly LOL...Right gonna go and finish clearing up and make last 8 cards...Then i can actually get my craft stuff put back where it belongs...And get the tree out and up tomorrow

Friday bits

Dreamy and Fairy the only bits from the earliest auditions that were included on last years shows were crowd scenes from them...Queues outside the venues, hopefuls shouting Britians Got Talent, that their city has talent, some of the more bizarre entries performing for the crowds of queues, 'rehearshing' whilst waiting...And they did film stuff like that when we were down as well as the acts in small rooms in front of a producer only...They didn't show any of the auditions from the non televised stage...I forgot to add last night that although i hate all the sob stories you get on these programmes am not adverse to using his autism to get him a bit further on...Hypocrite???? Possibly to some but i view it more as more inspiring...What i said yesterday to the blokey on phone was that he wanted to save singing Robbie to the next round if he got that far...Because Robbie and his music has been Ms inspiration and helped him to cope with and do his best to overcome his autism...Which is the truth as it has...Even if i couldn't stand Robbie i'd have to acknowledge that and see him as a bit of a saviour to me...I can't count as far as how many times shoving a robbie song on in the flat or car or making M use personal CD player and now MP3 player has helped him come off the ceiling and back down to the ground all calmed down...Ok am a hypocrite i guess LOL...M ain't going to win and it's not like X Factor where there is weeks of live finals with the sob stories trotted out every single week...He's wanted to try out for X Factor ever since it started and before that Pop Idol...Neither of which i felt comfortable about...I don't think there should be much of a problem with Take That and Robbie stuff being sung as you often see both artists work being used in auditions...Guess it's a shame he's not into Westlife as of course they are with sonyBMG so wouldn't be a problem as it's Simon Cowel LOL...On the other hand am so glad he isn't in to westlife <g>

Went and got the yukky thing done and i feel ok...I gripped the table and didn't look ROFL...The nurse went to book my next one and the above could cause a problem with that...As i have to have it at around the same date...It can be a couple of days early but it can't be late...And we know from the original letter that the next stage is around those dates in january...Christmas cards i've given up on and am buying some to send out...I was all fired up and on the ball until oct when i got that vile flu that has appeared this year...My energy levels had already been sapped with all my 'womans troubles' and the flu just capped them...Got some bad news late on wed night...One of Ks friends gran died suddenly :o(  Poor lass her gran basically brought her up...She'd been rushed into hospital on tues with pneumonia...On wed morning Ks friend went to see her and she was looking well and hospital were pleased with her, in the afternoon she got a call saying she'd deteriorated rapidly and to come in...Half an hour later she was dead :o(  This friend of Ks has called me mummy for yonks but she is getting help to organise the funeral etc...Am gonna go along to it even though i didn't know her gran and as it looks like it won't happen till after Christmas then K will be able to go as well...She wasn't that old being only 63 and it's just so sad...Heart attack they found from the post mortem :o(  Bad enough at any time of year but worse near Christmas and also Ks friend is about to turn 20 very soon...I've said she can come round here at Christmas if she wants to or feels up to it...Even though she obviously doesn't want to celebrate it now i hate the idea of her sat alone in her flat on Christmas day...To counter that i got a bit of good news last night...Got a call from one of my friends and her sisters baby has put on weight to now be 5½lbs...She's due in around 3 weeks time...She's married to a guy i've been friends with for years...First baby but he's downs syndrome and has a hole in his heart...He hadn't been gaining weight much but he's decided to put a spurt on in last couple of weeks...Her hubby is in the army and is supposed to be in Iraq just now but his commanding officer said no when they found out the baby is downs...Now they seem to have changed their mind and he may be getting sent there to join his company after his 2 weeks paternity leave is up...Regardless of how badly he is found to be once he is born :o(  I know it's his job etc but i think it's a bit off to tell the guy that no he isn't going on because they wouldn't be able to get him back out if the baby is badly affected and then go and change your minds about it all...He has been permanently on call for the last few months...Whilst the rest of his company were on leave because they were being posted he was on call 24/7...He's been getting no breaks as such at all, his wife has had a crap pregnancy and no family around because they are in germany...And then they go and chuck this at him...Not fair IMO...As i said i know it's his job but if they can't get him out of Iraq easily if there are pretty majorly bad problems with the baby then his company can't be posted somewhere 'easy' in Iraq...Not that anywhere is easy over there but some like Basra must be easier to get out of at short notice than others...We'll see they will probably change their minds again.

Gs UCAs application has gone off now...Three courses all at the same uni he has applied for...Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering and the joint electrical and mechanical engineering course...First year is the same for them all anyways LOL...So now it's just waiut and see if he gets an interview, the base coaching him in interview techniques and crossing fingers he gets offered a place...As he apparently already has the required grades then hopefully it will be an unconditional offer...He got very stressed and started panic attacking last night when he pressed wrong button on the UCAS website about the payment method...I was in the bath and had to get out and try and sort it...But i ended up having to give him a cheque to take to school today to pay the £15 application fee...Am not entirely happy with what the base told him to put down for support...I know he manages school fine with little support BUT he does ALL homework in the base, he gets help from the base with all that side...At uni he will have to do stuff like that at home or in the library...He totally falls apart and panic attacks if he can't get something done perfectly...That's why homework has always been done in the base...He's going to need support and understanding about stuff like that and probably the odd extension on essays etc...As for physical aids a laptop isn't the only thing he will need...A PDA so he can keep track of and set reminders on about when X,Y or Z is due in or happening...A dictaphone to record lectures as well as if he misses writing down the littlest thing he WILL panic attack big time...Base told him to put down he'd need a laptop and that he'd need support to find his bearings for the first few weeks...The base have no idea how much he panics now...They hardly see him because when he doesn't have a class he is in either the common room or the library...And no he's not studying in the library...A lot of the 6th years aren't too keen on some of the 5th years...So instead of using the common room they go to the library and play cards LOL...I don't blame them because the new 5th years in June trashed the common room basically and it got closed until after the summer...Me i'd have barred them permanently because if they can't look after it then they don't deserve the priviledge of having one...Not all schools have a common room as they don't have the space so they should count themselves lucky and look after it.

Am so excited LOL

No christmassy bits am all excited but trying not to be too excited...Today at tea time i got a call on my mobile...Withheld number and generally am wary of them but thought it was a pal who has her number withheld...No it was one of the people from Britains Got Talent...Now would they really be phoning up everyone who auditioned...I really don't think so...He said we'd find out in next couple of weeks....But that Ms vid had been put forward to be considered for the next stage...Then he asked what he had sung and who was it by for getting clearance...I said what song but that M wanted to sing a Robbie song if he got to next stage...So he took details of that too...Now surely they wouldn't call and ask that if he didn't have a pretty good chance of getting to next stage???? Or would they...And blokey phoned back an hour later...He'd forgotton to ask if M sang acapella or to a backing track...I said acapella....Blokey said great that's brilliant...I told him well we don't have a clue where to find a backing track...So what do you think folks???? Do you think he's in with a good chance or not???? All i can say it's i reckon his chances have gone a bit higher than 50/50 now...Oh crikey more new clothes to audition with and costs of travelling....EEKS depending on where the next lot is held LOL

Nae happy

Am not a happy bunny...I managed to get an appointment with my GP yesterday and boy was it interesting...I did have the procedure done that i had read about it...I asked my GP and he showed me it written on the letter...I told him they told me naff all at the hospital...So i could have been bleeding for several days and not known that i had to see a GP straight away if i had been...They didn't warn me i could have pain on and off for a few weeks after...That seems to be every 2nd day...It's the backache that is cheesing me off because although i have had 'womens troubles' since i was 16 i've never had backache as such as part of it all...Mind you it's about the only bit i don't have as such LOL...My GP needless to say was NOT impressed...Then he started talking about the injections i need to have...He saw the look on my face and said 'so they didn't tell you that either then'...Nopes they said they were going to try some medication but not that it was by injection...I am TERRIFIED of needles....I know, i know it's woosy and silly but i know perfectly well where my fear of injections comes from...I fell in the bike sheds when i was 9 and cut my right knee right across and straight through to the bone...I was given a local anaesthetic injection for almost every stitch that was put in...And i had 10 stitches put in LOL...And that is where my needle phobia comes from...So i have to have an injection every month for the next six months...With a huge massive, thick needle directly into my womb...First one is on fri and i am dreading it...Why can't they just haul the whole lot out...I don't need those bits anymore so they are of no use so they could just get rid...Suppose at least am allowed anaesthetic cream so it isn't as sore being done...I've had one of these before 12 years ago when i had an operation...Had to have this 6 weeks before the op and it wasn't pleasant...SIX OF THEM!!!!!!! SCREAAAAAAAAMMMMMSSSSS...IF the hospital had actually explained it all to me i would have told them where they could go shove their needles LOL...Nae happy at all

I finally got around to putting up some Christmas decorations today...The ones i put up on the communal stairwell...I started that when the kids were little...First couple of years we had an old tree i had got off mum...Very old tree as it's older than me and made from tinsel and about 3 feet high...I actually got it off mum a couple of years previous to put up in my flat i rented before i bought this place...And i bought some cheap coloured lights...When we bought a big tree that small one went up in the window of what is now M's bedroom...But a few years ago i bought a small 3 foot one same as the bigger one...Mum bought all of us some coloured icicle shaped lights years back and when i decided we'd have white lights only on the tree i didn't know what to do with them...And then i hit on the bright idea of hanging them up above the cupboard on the stairs (old loo)...Gradually more and more goes out there now LOL...More old coloured lights as the small tree has white ones only now as well and old decorations that are still perfectly fine...Oh and the santa G made when he was either 3 or 4 at one of his nursery schools gets hung up on that landing as well...It is so cool and i've never seen any other school or group make it with kids...A hat shape is cut out of card and painted red with cotton wool along the bottom and a blob on the pointy bit...Then clear fishing line attached...Two of the bits of line have ping pong balls with black eyes painted on them...Longer bit of line between those two with a ping pong ball painted red for his nose...Then from the nose hangs another bit of line with card cut into a longish triangle covered in cotton wool for his beard...It's over a foot in length in total and looks so cool...So now i have those decorations up i better get the flat tidied and get the inside ones put up...Every year i keep promising i won't buy any more decorations as i have plenty LOLOLOL...Last week out shopping with my best friend i ended up buy more tinsel because i liked the colour and 2 more snowstorm things...All from poundland so i can be forgiven can't i????  2 years ago i bought a santa shaped snowstorm thingy that lights up and last year i bought the snowman shaped one and a regular one that also light up...So this year i bought a christmas tree shaped one that lights up and a small one with a snowman stood beside it that doesn't light up...I also bought in asda a month ago more lights...K was like why more lights, you have PLENTY lights...Erm well a small string of 20 on each of the 3 windows that face the street...Can't remember if it is 20 or 50 on the small tree...A set of 100 normal ones and a set of 100 twinkling ones on the main tree...Oh and there is the ones i bought in asda sale 2 years ago that never went on the tree last year...I put them up over what was the chimney breast and left them up permanent cos i like them...They're gem shaped...But i HAD to buy these new ones and you can never have too many lights on a tree can you <ggg>  They're from asda and are mini chandeliers...Really pretty and only 10 on the string...They have little droplets on them like a real chandelier and are ever so pretty when lit...If i had an actual fireplace with a mantlepiece i would have strung them across under the mantle...I did used to have a big round ball that light up and got hung up in the living room window...But a lot of the lights on the rope went bust and i haven't bothered to take off the whole rope and measure it to replace it...And no i haven't made my christmas cards yet <sigh> I know i need them finished by sunday to post...What i wanted to didn't quite work because the wire is too thick...And it is THIN wire but i need thinner and the place i buy from doesn't have in the colours i want...So am doing the bits minus wire...I don't have many to post...Uncles & Aunts, a couple of friends and some people from on here IF i manage to get all the addresses back that i need...Otherwise tough.

I did manage to work out how to use the file manager now but it's such a faff...Scottish for pain in bum LOL...Go into file manager, open the page of the pic i want to put on here, cut n paste the URL from the search bar, press Add Image button, go to URL button then finally paste the URL into that bit...PAH!!!!! pain in backside for defo now...G had his annual medical today at school...He gets one every year due to being special needs...So he's 6 feet tall according to them and 13 stone...He looks a lot lighter and nowhere near that weight...Both last year and this year the school doctor has been shocked at how much he weighs as he looks around 2 stone lighter...Whilst i was there i went through to the base and asked if they could send him home a cope of the sticky toffee pudding recipe he made in the base last month...As it is so delicious and he can make it at home for me and his sis HAHAHA...I have asked him several times to ask for it but he kept forgetting as per usual...M has really shocked me...Last night he handed me a letter from school...Which i needed to sign if i was going to attend the school Christmas service at one of the local Kirks...Now normally M BANS me from going to them but not this year...I was under pain of death to not go LOL...He is accompanying the music teacher on drums like he often does...But he is also reading on of the prayers and he is singing a solo...So i signed it saying yes i will be going along on monday afternoon :o) I am really looking forward to it...I got M an MP3 player...Not an Ipod but a much cheaper one...He didn't want a shuffle as he likes to see what is playing on the MP3 player and he didn't fancy an Ipod nano...4gb one which should hold around 1000 songs...I know it's a lot but hey that means he can have ALL the tunes he wants on one without having to chop and change them on a smaller one...And the 4gb version of the one i bought was only a fiver dearer than a 2mg and £7 dearer than 1gb version...Anyways enuff from me for now

Cooeee!!!!

I am alive and am still reading everyone elses journals...Am not commenting much though, sorry...Been neglectful here because a) i've been too busy and b) i have felt like crap since last wed...I finally had my appointment at the gynae out patients...Well i won't go into gory details but they decided to do some tests on me there and then...Now they didn't tell me what the procedure was called but after seeing someone mention a specific procedure on a message board i googled it...Low and behold sounds like what i had done...And it can leave you feeling like you're having a mega bad time of the month for several weeks after...You're supposed to have done X,Y and Z before having the procedure...And you're supposed to do X, Y and Z after...Oh and depending on why you're getting it done you can be given a general or local anaesthetic to have it...But some places don't give anaesthetic at all...I had sod all anaesthetic and it didn't feel that bad...I was ultra sounded which was cool as i could see the screen...No fibroids or nasties about...The other procedure was basically a camera you know where and they tried to do a biopsy as well...As you're supposed to have anaesthetic then i can now see why there was a nurse stood beside me...Stroking my shoulders, telling me what a good girl i was being...Treating me like i was 2 ROFL...I wasn't embarassed...After you've given birth and you've had as many people watch you give birth as i had with 2 of mine then your dignity goes out the window...Anyways they couldn't get the camera where they wanted and they couldn't get the biopsy either...That's because of a procedure i had done 12 years ago...And the doctor did say it might not be possible but they'd give it a go if i didn't mind...I do wish i had say no now as i have had mega headaches, tummy ache, backache, lower abdomen ache...The whole shebang, which is why i was there in the first place grrrr...Am being put on some pill or other the name of which i can't remember and couldn't pronounce regardless...Six months is longest i can stay on it...They won't operate because i am too overweight...Am overweight again because my 'womens troubles' have made me gain weight <sigh> ...Even if the weight naffs off i can't have an op because no-one to look after the boys...Mind you 6 months of this medication and then need to give it a few months to see if it has worked...So it could be a year or year n half down the line before an op...By which time hopefully i could possibly leave them overnight and just get help in for them at tea time and someone phone to make sure they are up and out for college/uni...The way M is coming on just now that may be possible...He has come on about 5 years worth of development in space of 6-8 months...Of course he may stick again for yonks but am hoping not.

There are so many lately who have said to me that how M is and how G is is such an inspiration to them and gives them hope that their kids will do the same...But i need someone further up the chain than me to give me that hope and inspiration...Must say i do feel at times i can now have a life back for ME...That i can start to do things again that are for me and not always about them and having to revolve everything around them...On wed i was at a conference about how our local authority wants to change how care is provided here...I wasn't the only one who got a bit narked off that they seem to be concentrating on and considering old people only...No disrespect to elderly but what about the kids, what about the young adults and what about those of ANY age who have certain illnesses or conditions...Basically as our council is broke they want to concentrate on provision for those who are considered HIGH level of need...But how do you define HIGH level with some conditions...G is deemed on paper to be MORE ABLE than M...Purely because he is more able academically...But G has more problems socially and with everyday stuff than M does...And with those who are kids/young adults the defintions of what they need always comes down to academic ability...There was a woman at the table i was sat at who has been given NAFF ALL information or help...Her husband has parkinsons and she has given up work to care for him...She has health problems of her own...She can't get her knee replacement op done because she can't get care for her hubby...YET our council want MORE care to be done in the home...To cut respite care, to cut back on paid help...So they want even more put on the shoulders of the families...Doesn't matter if we fall ill, doesn't matter if we can't cope, doesn't matter if there are siblings involved who miss out on a childhood...Oh and Young Carers weren't mentioned AT ALL...I made sure they were in the workshops...I suggested as well that a generic information pack is produced...So that when someone is diagnosed with A, B or C illness or disability they can be given an information pack...Which would include stuff like info on benefits like DLA, Carers Allowance, contact numbers for support groups (local and national), carers centre numbers, information on suitable education if it is a child, info on occupational therapy, speech therapy etc etc etc...Because most of the time you are told ok so and so has this condition here's some medication and we'll see you again in X amount of weeks...Usually you find the info you really need from other carers...The Carers Centre is a mine of info but unless you are told it exists then you don't know how they can help and advise you...Like just now i KNOW from reading info online that G will be entitled to up to £24,000 a year for support at uni...BUT i had to a) find that out for myself and b) i have no idea who funds it...I know who in Scotland funds the Disabled Student Grant which is for equipment needed to enable him to do his course but that is seperate to the support...I will be phoning and asking the Disability officer at the univeristy he is applying to...But info like that could go in a generic pack...K didn't know who to talk to as such when she fell ill...I told her to go along to disability advice at uni...That poor woman who no-one was helping didn't know about Carers Allowance...She can't get a social worker and there housing is unsuitable for them...She has been struggling to get help and info on that...Passed from pillar to post...And they want the families to take on MORE responsibility!!!!! If the families got given ALL relevant information at the outset then maybe they wouldn't end up all in a muddle just chugging alonf TRYING to cope...Even stuff like cinema pass where a carer gets in free, places that do discounts...Last week i was speaking to another mum at M's school and her lad loves footie and goes to watch the local premier league team...She didn't know that they do free entry for disabled...She'd spent a fortune on a season ticket pass for him and for someone else to go with him...Now that may all sound like i want everything for free or on the cheap...I don't but as most who have a disability or a long term illness end up on a very tight budget then as tesco says every little helps...Her lad can't go if the other season ticket holder is ill or unable to go along...With the disabled pass you can do is a season ticket book and it's in the disabled persons name and another season ticket pass is given which is for one person to accompany them...So if your regular carer is ill or away or unable to go to a match then you can have someone else take you...I know the council want to start charging for some services that previously were free and i don't have a problem as such with that...But they should means test it...And if you don't have other family living near you what then if the family member who is near you is unable to look after you...They say they can't get paid care workers because it is mainly a minimum wage job...Well family members who are carers don't even get minimum wage...IF they are earning less than £84 a week, are caring for disabled/ill person for a minimum of 35 hours per week, and the person they care caring for is on Middle or High rate care of DLA, THEN they can get Carers Allowance...Which is a princely sum of £46 a week...It was introduced by the prior Tory government to replace the average take home weekly wage...It's not gone up much at all over the years...Ok so you can get Income Support...But IF you got given a reasonable amount in Carers Allowance, which is taxable income, then you wouldn't need to be on other benefits...Also paid care workers aren't allowed to do X, Y and Z because of health & safety...But family members who are carers they don't matter...Paid care workers get trained in the likes of safe restraining techniques, how to change colostomy bags and such like...Family members who are carers DON'T...When i was at my wits end and asked where i could go on a course to learn restraining techniques to help me with M i was told i couldn't because am his mum!!!!!...Reason being if i used them and they went wrong i could end up suing those who trained me...So i was left struggling, trying to restrain a strapping lad with the strength of a strong man, getting beaten up...But that's ok cos am just his mum...I didn't want him medicated but i began to ask about it as i was desperate...But the psych at hospital didn't want him medicated either...Luckily he has stopped being so violent in this last year...I'd already looked at what he ate and drank...He's actually now identifying some foodstuffs and drinks that affect him...Not many but he has stopped himself from having those that do make his head feel 'fuzzed up' and make him feel 'angry'...Not the usual suspects either...I really don't mind as such if am told ok you need to care more at home yourself...But when they implement this they better put in place at least some respite, give us essential training, give us all the information we need...Give family members who are carers the same health & safety and politically correct considerations that are given to paid care workers...Just because you're family doesn't mean you should be treated as a dumping ground, 3rd class citizens and oh they will do ti anyway because they're family...And for crying out loud do take into consideration Young Carers and siblings and let them have a bluddy childhood.

Erm apologies for that wee rant...I did get rather vocal on wednesday LOL...That is a smidgen of what i said in the workshops LOL...I also made sure that woman got given the number of the Carers centre near her by hijacking the woman from our Carers centre who organised wed conference...So her and her husband can get advice on any benefits they are entitled to and essential support...I HATE seeing people left high and dry like that...I was lucky when G was diagnosed a friend gave me loads of info and so did my ex mother in law.

Anyways who is ready for Christmas cos am NOT...I haven't even looked out the decorations yet, i haven't made my presents that i NEED to make, i haven't bought all the ones i need to buy, food HAHAHA....Oh and i still need to make my cards LOL...I don't send out many and they WILL get made this weekend...I have got G's main pressie which is a new mobile phone...That's caused a right stooshie on the politics message board ROFL...He got a mobile for his 13th birthday because K got one for hers...So the boys said we get a mobile when we are 13...And he's not had another one since...I got the LG chocolate one...Phones4u had it down to £50 :o) It's easy to navigate, cool looking, has all the claptrap on it that he won't use (camera, Mp3 player etc) and basically isn't a fossil as he calls his old one...Unlike most teens he's happy as long as he can phone or text and even then not that often...I had to buy it with a tenner top up...So it was £60 in total but the tenner won't go on until boxing day...Is it so wrong to spend £60 (including airtime) on a phone for a 17 year old????? He's not the only one of his friends who has an old phone and isn't fussed about using one much...According to some on that board it will make him a target for muggers and he should have stuck with the one he had...I mean he's SEVENTEEN, he's not some old fogey like me...He's allowed to be slightly trendy LOL...M i hadn't a clue what to get (he got my old phone) but he came on tuesday moaning that his MP3 player is falling apart...So he's getting a new one...As he uses the thing almost daily then am shocked it lasted a year n half...Previous one lasted a year...Not sure if to go for an I-pod or not...Thing is i feel you're paying for the name with them more than anything...But i want one that's maybe a bit more robust this time...Then again he uses them so much more robust probs won't make a blind bit of difference...K well she reads this so am staying schtum apart from to say i did tell her i'd take her clothes shopping...Primark doesn't exist in Edinburgh and she likes Primark...And she knows that bit already so no harm in mentioning it...The boys have a party tomorrow afternoon, pantomime on tues evening both with the fun club...I want Johnny Depp for christmas so if anyone is contact with him please prise him away from his other half for me LOLOL

Erm how can i add images from my file manager now???? It does still exist but how can we get pics from it onto our journals like we used to???? All my xmassypics and tags are in it <sobs>

Pah!!! and grrrrrr

Grrrrrrr...ARRGGHHHHHHHHH...PAH!!!!!!!! I've spent the last half hour TRYING to a) add some pics and b) actually get an entry saved...For the life of me i can't find how to add them in the good old fashioned way so they're all in a little box at the top of the entry...And i keep getting that they can't be uploaded and then action aborted...Yet a test i did worked...Well it didn't work my end so i deleted it but it did work for others.

It's been a very wet, very miserable, very windy, very cold YUKKY wintery day here...I had to take some pics of either landscape or seascape so ventured down the beach...Those are the pics am trying to add LOL...I love the sea regardless but i especially love it when it is all rough and wild...With those white horses breaking over the shore...I actually find a very wild sea like that extremely calming...But hey am weird <g> ...I decided to drive up by the lighthouse on the headland leading into the harbour to take some pics there as well...Well when i was going across the cobbled bridge the car started to go clumpty clump...So stopped as soon as i could and got out to see which offside tyre had gone flat...You get charged for 0800 numbers on your mobile so i nipped across at the traffic lights to the pub there...The barlady let me use their office phone :o) So i left her a tip...The AA said national waiting time was anything up to 2 hours eeks...Left my mobile number with them and before i was back at the car i had a call saying he'd be with me in around 10 mins...I had to ask some council workers in a drain clearing lorry to move as it was the only space for the AA man...He changed my tyre and tomorrow am going to my garage to see what's wrong with it...We couldn't see where it was punctured when nice AA man took it off...At least i had a spare...And yes i know i could have changed it myself...But what is the point in having a breadown service if you don't use it <g> Right going to try and add these pics now, fingers crossed.

This is looking along one of the outer walls to the harbour...That's not the actual lighthouse but a small one as a beacon for getting into the harbour entrance

This is at the back of that harbour wall and the foreground is froth that the breakers have left behind...I know it's fuzzy but i was being blown about by the wind and rain over there

Thurs

Well that's my boy after he'd done his audition...We later than i originally planned and am so glad of that...I knew there was major roadworks in Dundee and i did want to allow for possibility of roadworks elsewhere but we still got there with plenty time to spare...I'd never been to the SECC before and i was worried about finding it...I needn't have been, it is so easy to find...I've only been to Glasgow to Hampden for footie and last years Robbie gig and years ago when i went to Star Trek conventions...I do remember how to get to Sauchiehall St from back then like...Well the turn off for the SECC from the motorway is the next one along from that one LOL...And after that it is a very short drive along the Clyde...M was in the 3 o'clock slot along with loads of others...After we queued where you can see people queuing in the background there we went in to the holding area...Sounds like a herd of cattle that but i suppose in effect they are LOL...Thurs wasn't in front of the judges you see on telly...It was in front of a producer but the next stage is in front of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan...They did film a little bit for crowd scenes and such like...Well they said a little bit LOL...Having gone through filming with a film crew before they shot loads of stuff that will either not get used or you will see a few seconds worth of LOL...They had some producers going around chatting to performers whilst they were waiting to be called...Some were filmed being talked to and some weren't...And most didn't get chatted to...M did but not on film <phew> I did NOT want to appear on camera...She was lovely but i could see she was a bit puzzled by the way he answered some of her questions...She asked him how long he had been singing...He told her 16 years so she then asked him how old he was...He said 16 LOL...So she laughed in a nice way and said so you've been singing since you were born...You know he wasn't that far off being right...He used to hum away as babies do after a while and it was always in tune...I got slagged off for buying a drum for him to get from santa when he was 18 months old at one mother & toddler group we went to...I told the other mums that a plastic drum with plastic sticks was quieter than the pan he hauled out and the metal spoon...Even back then he did bang away with a sense of rhythm...At that point i explained about him being autistic, not sure if she knew what that meant but she seemed to...His number was called whilst she was chatting to him but she went over to the guy calling out the numbers and said she'd take M through when she was finished...He was seen at around 5pm...He wouldn't allow me through to watch him actually audition so i don't know how he got on as such...I know he was excited because he does a funny rolling and widening of his eyes thing when he is exicted...He also tends to flap a bit...So i told him to make sure he looked straight ahead or at the person he was auditioning to...Keep his head up and eyes straight...He said he did that and he thinks it went well...He said he was asked what school he went to so he told them the name of his school and that it is a special needs school...He was also asked his age and i can't remember what else he said...He sang Take That's latest single and as we had no backing track he sung it acapella...He will hear near Christmas or definitely by New Year if he has reached the next stage...IF he does then i will be letting everyone know...Oh and i won't be going backstage with him then either...K and G can look after him...K in her usual sarcy way said 'mum doesn't want to risk being on telly'...I said too right i don't and also as Ant & Dec will be there presenting then it would give her and G a chance of maybe meeting them...See am being nice mum not scardy cat mum <G> I do hope he does get through as it will be such a boost to his self esteem...Getting an audition on thurs has already been one but to actually get as far as on stage in front of the judges with 2000 strong audience would be even better...His headteacher and deputy headteacher gave him a Good Luck card :o) His music teacher had him practising earlier in the week to project his voice...He's wheedled a new shirt, new tie and new trousers out of me from all this...He also went to the barbers again to have his hair cut...And he promised her he would go along regularly to make it easier for her to do his hair...So that's a bonus side effect of all this :o) It was a long day and at times a rather boring long day but he coped extremely well...I had bought earplugs to take with me to block out some of the noise...But he didn't need them...Another bonus side effect is that he coped brilliantly with all the crowds and all the noise of people practising and cheering...He even coped with the sound of a lot of drummers drumming and bagpipes and all manner of stuff being played all at the same time...I have to post a copy of his birth certificate to them...They didn't seem to have any idea what his photo ID was LOL...He wasn't the only one and they had a pile of pre-addressed envelopes for doing that...I had forgotten to take his birth certificate because he had photo ID...His concession bus pass has official pass hologram on it and his date of birth on it as well as a photo of him...BTW for the show earlier this year they didn't come to Scotland at all TUT

G is off out to a friends soon and i can't persuade M that we need to go to a pub somewhere to watch the footie grrrr...Oh G went to one of his friends on thurs after he got home from school and we picked him up on way home...IF we beat Italy later today i will be back screaming for you all to hear LOL

Screams

Oh crikey does this count as a website???? I have been looking at the release form for M for thurs which both him and me have to sign...It's full of legal jargon that i quite frankly can't make head nor tail of...He has to list all websites that he has either created, particiapted in, and any all materials he has posted on any website...He then has to list a description of each and all materials he has posted on any...Well he has a MySpace page that he hasn't looked at for months...That was created through one of his clubs so they learnt about that kind of stuff...And it's private so no-one can access it without permission except for his friends.

He and i presume myself cannot disclose any information about the programme or anyone involved with the programme...Wonder if that means he can't say if he gets through on thurs????? His school is very excited about it all...His music teacher had him practising today and was helping him with his voice...How can you manage to tell someone autistic that he can't discuss anything with anyone????  Am just so wary about all this happening...A year ago i would have said no way are you applying but he's come on so much this year...And he took it upon himself to fill in the application with very little help from me...Basically all he asked me for was spellings of some words and not much else...To be honest am just so proud that he has managed this himself and has decided himself that he can cope...I am worried how he will cope with the crowds of people that will be there...If it is proving difficult then i will grab someone official and ask politely if there is somewhere quiet he can wait...I detest all the sob stories they rattle out on these types of programmes but i am going to tell them when we get there that he is autistic...So that hopefully that can make them see why i am having to talk for him at some points rather than him speaking for himself...And why he speaks the way he does.

Oh crikey this is all so exciting yet at same time such a worry for me and well maybe i am worrying too much....I HATE legal speak LOL...Half the stuff on this form is same thing repeated in slightly different phrasing....I better remember and ask permission for the school newsletter just in case LOL.

It's BALTIC again am going for a bath to heat up, heating is on full blast and it's still baltic

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had SNOW yesterday evening...It had been horrendously windy all day and even driving through the streets my car was getting blown about...G had his flu jab in the afternoon and i was slightly late in picking him up...How he wasn't blown off his feet waiting for me i don't know...His school is fairly exposed to the elements and he was waiting by the car park which is at opposite end from the entrance door...We got a fair old buffeting (sp?) in the car on way back to the surgery...As he didn't have to go back not having anything last period i did dutiful mum thing and we went for a late lunch...But the period before i had picked him up he had his weekly cookery lesson...He'd made sticky toffee pudding and it smelt divine...We didn't have that until gone 9pm as we were too full from rather late lunch...Am not the worlds best at reheating stuff but i stuck it in the oven and hoped for the best...I HATE using the microwave...Well my lad makes a pretty mean sticky toffee pudding i can tell you...I dragged the poor lad to John Lewis and it's outside the shopping centre...It was sleeting then and still the high winds...First i knew it was snowing was M texting me..His meeting had just finished...Now he is managing to go down on the bus, get off at correct stop and go to the meetings himself...After meeting finishes he crosses the road and gets the bus home...His text said 'It's SNOWING!!!!'...So i phoned him and asked if he wanted a lift...He said yes, so i went and collected him and sure enough it was snowing in town...Too windy for any of it to stay around like...Later at night some did stay put on the roofs of the cars in my street...Today he texted me after college...'It's RAIIINNNNING!!!!'...Phoned him and he was moaning...I said well take the bus, he grumped...I said you want a lift don't you and i was right...Told him tough luck as your brother is due home in a mo and doesn't have keys...He took the bus...Methinks i will have to teach him to text 'mum can i have a lift please it's snowing/raining' ...Instead of just informing me of the weather conditions <g>

No snow today but bitterly cold and still very very windy...K phoned last night bored silly and wanting out...She did get out today though...They found nothing untoward wrong with her brain which is good news...And basically they confirmed the non epileptic seizures thing...The doctor in the hospital doesn't like using the word psychological...I guess because he reckons that implies it's all in the mind and put on...When it's not, it is very real and those who have them are unaware of doing anything deliberately...She was about 4th or 5th person he had seen that week about same thing...So it's fairly common...At a guess me not being medical i'd view it as instead of stuff from in the past suddenly hitting you with a brick and turning you to depression that it takes you totally unaware...And manifests as very real physical difficulties instead...Her hair bless her is a gunky mess...She spent ages in the shower before she left to try and get worst out...She's said that she reckons some they're going to have to cut out...Easier if it's a bloke he could just clipper it mega short but not if you're female and have longish hair and don't suit mega short hair...Speaking of which i need to go make tea and have a nice soak in the bath...Oh and well done to Glasgow on getting the honour of holding the Commonwealth Games in 2014...They shouldn't have the same financial problems as the London Olympics have because Glasgow already has the vast majority of the facilities needed...Now doesn't that make more sense...Apply for to host a competition you already have the majority of the facilities already available for LOL...To any of you who read this who live down where those tidal surges were expected i hope you were ok and not affected by them at all

All excited

Several weeks ago M took it upon himself to send off an application online for Britains Got Talent...Today he got a letter from the TV comapny...He has a first audition next thurs in Glasgow at the SECC in the middle of the afternoon...So he's gone off to his YAC meeting high as a kite...He said i'll get to meet Ant & Dec...No said me they're in Australia...Well i'll get to meet Simon Cowell...No i don't think so said me as this is just an audition to get to the next stage...God help me if he doesn't get through to the next stage in January...Anyways we're still all excited about it...He has to learn a verse and chorus of whatever song he is chosing to sing...Think it's Take That rather than Robbie for just now...He has different songs planned for every stage ARRGGHHH...Hey ho keep everything crossed for him please :o)

this n that

Well after having full blown flu M gave me his cold...Which for me turned into a rotten stinking one and gave me an ear infection...So antibiotics and antibiotic ear drops...I hate eardrops they dribble out unless you keep your head on it's side for about 15 mins after putting them in LOL...Apart from when i had all the 'tummy bugs' (which were actually my gall bladder) a couple of years ago i haven't felt this miserable or poorly for years...I wanted to have my christmas cards all made and am torn between two ideas...To either glass paint them ALL or a different idea i have...Basically using the masking fluid and watercolours again...I got new watercolour paints back at end of sept...Can't remember if i mentioned them...They were really cheap and dead cool...They're metallic/pearlescent...It gives a lovely sheen to what i use on the cards...K had me make a card for her to give to her b/f to celebrate their 2 year anniversary of being together...Well it's hard to do a card for a young lad for that type of thing that isn't mushy...I have a metal stencil that is hearts and not overly flouncy and mushy...So i used the masking fluid over the stencil...Then i used the copper watercolour paint over it...Peeled off the masking fluid and then used the stencil to draw the outline in copper pen...Then i got a black card blank, put copper paper on it then the watercolour paper over that with the design...And put on a 'just for you' tag...So blokey and sentimental but not mushy :o) He liked it she said.

Our weekend away at Ks was a nightmare...The forth road bridge has roadworks on it every sat & sun just now...They've been going on for a while and the queus are horrendous...So me in my wisdom decided to detour via kincardine bridge...And on the motorway it says you can use that alternative route...What it doesn't say is that there are roadworks there as well that are WORSE...Put it this way just as we entered kincardine itself i phoned K to say we would be late and we were stuck in a queue at kincardine bridge...50 mins later i phoned her to say we had finally crossed the dratted bridge...I know no using mobile whilst driving...I didn't as such i phoned when we were staionary...50 mins to travel ONE mile ARRRGGHHHHHH...Ever since i've had a mobile phone i never used or answered it whilst driving...Eventually we got to her fellas flat and loaded the car up with half her gear...We left the boys with her fella and drove out to her new flat...Then we went back and collected the rest of her stuff, the boys and her fella...Although she is out of edinburgh the flat is lovely :o) There are a few details they need to sort out with the letting agent though...Like the kitchen door being slightly squint so doesn't shut properly, a slight leak from under the toilet cistern, the drier part of the washer/drier NOT working...The freezer was being a pain but they found out why and fixed that themselves...It was set too low LOL...What i still can't get over is the kitchen has hob, oven, microwave, washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and there is some crockery, pans, utensils, cutlery etc...BUT NO kettle!!!!!!....Oh and the oven has a grill but no grill pan...But NO kettle i find so strange...It's a BASIC requirement...the lad she's sharing with bought a kettle...K has bought a toaster and taken all her kitchen stuff she already had...She's bought a TV stand and waiting for coffee table to be back in stock...I told them that rather than sharing the costs better that they share the buying...As in each of them buy something outright...That way when they part ways there's no arguements as to what belongs to who...She has the double bedroom and the lad has the single bedroom...Not because K has a fella but because it is the only room that is carpeted...So it's better for her when she gets up...She's still got all the ongoing health problems so a carpet is easier for her mobility...I took them shopping to asda...And again the next day to argos, poundland etc...The lad she's sharing with has never lived away from home before...He's having to realise he has to make adjustments LOL...He'll soon learn...We stayed with K as there is plenty room for us to stay with her...We also came home via the forth road bridge LOL...Times for waiting on the electronic signs said 80 mins...Funny that we queued and got across the bridge in 25 mins LOL

K is going into hospital on wed until fri...This is for the tests that they didn't do earlier on in the year...The tests she was refered for LAST november that her neuro thought she'd get done in January or the spring at the latest...The tests she went over to Glasgow for in may or june that she was only there for an hour for!!!!!...She'll be in glasgow and wired and hooked up to these machines...So basically she's gonna be confinedto bed for 3 days :o( Not like we can just pop in to visit her either...She's taking uni work in with her to do but still she's going to be bored silly...As she will be hooked up to machines then using her mobile will be out of the question...Wonder if they have normal Tv or that stupid patientline thing that costs an arm and a leg.

Anyways that's all for now folks toodle pip tc xxx

erm DUH

Ok she has opened her present from the states...Now tell me what parent in their right mind buys as a present an external harddrive for a computer for one of their offspring who is not into computers as such??????

Chuffed to bits

I'll write about the weekend later as i am over the moon today...This morning i had M's annual review meeting...The head teacher, class teacher, careers scotland woman, educational psychologist, autism outreach, speech therapist (shock), head of SN at the mainstream school and the deputy head teacher were all present...And me and M of course...As Mrs F from the mainstream school had to leave quickly she gave her report first...M is doing exceptionally well in his mainstream maths class...He is top of the particular class he is in :o) He would be capable of doing maths at a higher level but the classes for the grade she reckons he is capable of aren't suitable for him to be in...IF he had been staying on at school next year she would have had him back doing that stage...As it is because he will be leaving to go to college full time she has said to ask college for him to do intermediate level maths rather than the SEN level...They'll have to or there would be NO POINT as he's already beyond the SEN level anyways...I did mention that he'd refused to bother to get me an appointment at parents night with his maths teacher...They all laughed and said yeah lots of pupils are like that regardless of SEN or not <g> So she left and we went on to his class teachers report...Well she is as pleased with him as the mainstream school...She is also concerned that in some subjects he will already be beyond the level of the SEN course...At college they work on SQA access 3 level and he is doing that level for a lot of stuff at school this year...So they will be looking closely and asking college what they can actually provide...Apparently college is more flexible than it used to be...I didn't like to ask but i am wondering if their may be a possibility that he can mainly do mainstream stuff and then move on to a proper course...The SEN one is very very basic i have been told, which really isn't suitable but he needs qualifications to do a regular course...And as that's what the school seem to be after as well fingers crossed...The last thing i want is him to be bored and repeating stuff again...We had that in his first SEN school he went to and that is why he is where he is now...I always maintained he wasn't thick or stupid and that he was well capable of doing the national tests they do in Scotland for the 5-14 curriculum...But naaa they didn't do them unless pushed into it by bolshy parents like me LOL...Even then they dragged their heels so much it was yonks before he did any...Spending 2 years on the same maths book that is only like 30-40 pages long would bore anyone to tears...Spending months or years on same English books, same history stuff etc etc would bore anyone rigid...End result of that was he got so bored he tried to run away from that school more than once and hated getting up in the morning to go to school...I won't put up with the same from college...He's got a brain and he's being allowed to use it and i don't want that to stop...He's good at music, he's good at maths, he's good at other stuff as well...He's behind because he was drip fed for 3-4 years of his earlier education, he won't stand for that happening again and neither will I lol...He's in charge of taking the minutes at the Prefect meetings and the Student Forum meetings...He's also in charge of making sure they are typed up and handed out to everyone before the next meeting...The head teacher said he's quicker at doing that than she was LOL...He's matured a lot this last year :o) They said they believed it was because he was also going to the mainstream school...That may have played a part but i believe it is more to do with his being part of the Triple A Team group that both him and G are in now...Them making the DVD that they did to help to raise awareness of pupils and kids like them has given M a more grown up and different perspective on life...It's mainly because of that he has joined YAC and wants to become and MSYP like his sister...He WANTS to make everyone more AWARE of people like him, his brother and his friends...To EDUCATE people and to make people realise that they are not stupid or thick or retards ( i LOATHE that word)...To make people realise that kids and adults like him are intelligent and that they just see the world different to most other people...That seeing the world differently doesn't mean you are daft or stupid, just different...Besides to them we're the ones who're not normal <G> ...He told everyone at the review he is a member of YAC (youth action committee) and that he wants to be an MSYP when there is a vacancy for our area...They were very impressed...All in all it was an excellent review and one of the best he has had :o)  Just as well considering it will probably be his last one...On that note am going as i am full of the cold...Oh yes just after i recovered properly from my flu M, who never gets anything, saw fit to pass on the stinking rotten cold he had LOL...So i feel crappy again and worse than i did with the flu...My poor immune system has taken a battering LOL...And am also off to wish K a Happy Birthday on MSN...Am feeling old as she is now no longer a teenager

I am alive although i feel half dead

Well am still alive although i feel like only just...Last monday (not yesterday) i woke up feeling like death warmed up...I had gone to bed feeling fine and woke up with the flu...Proper flu not pretend man flu LOL...Although i may have appeared online most of the time i had away up and wasn't actually at the computer...When i was i was sat here doing not a lot trying to stay awake...Great oct hols we've had NOT...We were supposed to visit mum on sat for her birthday...Had to call off as i wasn't fit and certainly didn't want her getting it...Luckily the boys haven't caught it off me...Just as well as G hasn't had his flu jab yet...Yesterday and today we were supposed to be in Edingburgh visiting K...Had to call off that one sunday as i was still far from fit to drive...Today i have managed to actually walk to our wee coop which is just down the road without too much huffing and puffing...So we're now visiting K over this weekend coming...Have to fit in visiting mum as well...And G has a sleepover and i have no idea what they're doing with their club and on what day ARGHHHH...I've still noit heard anything from the hospital about an appointment which is really narking me off big time...Anyways normal service will be resumed as soon as possible...Hope everyone else is well out there

Joke <g>

I found these rather amusing but the males who read this may not <g>

A biker was riding along a california beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head, and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "because you have tried your best to be faithful to me in all ways, i will grant you one wish."

The biker pulled over and said, "build a bridge to Hawaii so i can ride over anytime i want."

The Lord said, "your request is materialistic, think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources, i can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honour and glorify me."

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, " Lord, i wish that i could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothings wrong, and how i can make a woman truly happy."

The Lord replied, " You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

Pregnancy, Estrogen and Women

Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.

Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?

A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.

Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?

A: Childbirth.

Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.

A: So what's your question?

Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?

A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?

A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?

A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?

A: Yes, pregnancy.

Q: Do I have to have a baby shower?

A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.

Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?

A: When the kids are in college.
