this 'n' that

Oh dear i've been a bit neglectful of my journal recently...We're still alive just haven't put an entry in...The boys are on holiday until the 18th...They have the 2 weeks off then the mon as it is our local mon holiday and the tues is inservive day...You know all these inservice/inset days are supposed to be for teachers to train...Well what did they do when us oldies were at school...No inservice then LOL...There's enuff time off school as it is IMO.

The boys were in respite playscheme on tues and went to see the new Mr Bean film... They said it was very funny...Last nite they went out for a meal with their Triple A club and enjoyed that...G wasn't impressed when i told them they could keep their change...He'd spent nearly all his tenner whereas M only had chips and a drink LOLOL...We're going down to see K at the weekend and booked into a hotel for the sat nite...It will be good to see her again :o) ...She's still having a bit of a time of it but at least she has been taken off the medication that was badly affecting her...Praying that what she has been given instead works...We'll go up north for a day next week to see everyone...I bought lots of flower bulbs and planters from poundland....Got a packet of lilies (6 for £1), some orchids for outside (50 for £1), a mixed pack of 50 for £1 that has 10 iris's in it...Mum asked what the other ones in that packet are...I said 20 pink flowers and 20 spikey pink flowers LOL...Got 2 big planters at only £1 each and a set of 2 smaller ones for £1...I bought a packet of 25 freesia's for £1 as well...So today i ended up planting some outside...I need some more planters though...I emptied out the ones i already have to use but still need some more...I did put some of the bulbs in the ground see if they grow...Am not very good with gardening or even growing anything indoors...If they grow they grow and if they don't well they didn't cost much <ggg> I say identical plastic planters in sainsburys for £3...No-one uses the teensy garden we have except for me and bloke downstairs...He cut the grass today which saved me doing it...Well i say grass it's more weeds than grass...I put down special weedkiller on it every year and they still grow like crazy on it...The weather has been gorgeous and really warm...The north east of scotland was warmest place in the UK yesterday...It's dulled down outside now andi reckon we are due some thunder...Swear i heard a rumble earlier but it could have been something else

I ended up with the heat gun from argos as i couldn't find a cheaper one...And i now have a method of getting inserts put into cards :o) Will leave them blank for people to write their own verses on though...I've been spending a lot of time preparing all kinds of bits for making up cards with...Once that's all done i can then make up samples and photograph them...The gun makes embossing so much easier :o) I also have another idea and need to make some stencils up...I don't think the cards i do are anything special and anyone could do them really...But i'll give it a go and if it works it works.

G had money burning a hole in his bank account again and went and bought himself a X box 360...Why you may ask when he has plenty games consoles already...Well there is 2 games he wants that you only get on that format LOL...At least it wasn't a playstation 3 which is rubbish from all accounts...I need to check online and see when his exams are on...He has a timetable but he has left it in school which is typical...I'll get to see it the day before he is off on exam leave LOL...He is going away with the base for a long weekend again at the end of may...Well i think it is end of may LOL...They're going up aviemore way again this year...He loves all that outdoor activity stuff :o) ...If he goes white water rafting again i will be most upset...M has joined local youth group that K used to belong to...He will represent the Triple A team...He did have second thoughts about joining it but in the end decided he was going to and went to the AGM...I dropped him off and spoke to some of the people there i knew...Quite a few knew him through K so they made him very welcome and i felt comfy leaving him on his own...I was going to see about getting him a support worker to go with him but looks like he will manage on his own which is brill...After time has passed he would like to try and stand to get onto the youth parliament one day...Really wants to follow in his big sisters footsteps LOL...K got a ticket from the SYP last week to go to the Young Scot awards so she got to dress up posh which she loves doing...She is also now on the exec of the SYP and is chair of the Social Justice committee :o) ...At their last meeting a couple of weekends ago most of the political parties had representatives there as of course we have the elections coming up in May...She managed to get a hold of Nicol Stephen who is leader of liberal democrats and was deputy first minister...She had a few words with him about young carers so he has promised to see that more is done for them LOL...If he is re-elected and still in a position of power she won't let go...The poor man really won't know what hit him <ggg> See the lib dems and the tories had their party leaders along...Jack Mcconnell had a prior engagement but did send someone high up from labour...SNP well they didn't send along anyone of importance...So seems like Alex Salmond doesn't care much about youth votes...I can't stand that man, he makes my skin crawl...As he isn't even on the scottish parliament i don't see why it is him who is representing them in all the debates...He is an MP not an MSP...But he does love the limelight and is so full of his own self importance...Dunno who is worse him or Tony Blair...Out it this way i wouldn't vote SNP because i can't stand their leader and i don't agree with a lot of what he says...Tommy Sheridan another i can't stand has announced in his partys mainfesto a carers allowance...Erm DUH one already exists Mr Sheridan...Ok i have gone and read what it states and some of it is quite good and trying to do a better deal for young carers...Won't make me vote for his party (solidarity) though because the man is as odious as alex salmond...You know what would be good but will never happen...That all the good bits are taken from each party and implemented LOL...Politics just makes me yawn at times...I don't really have a particular party i support...More that i usually try and see who will do the best they can for my area and what i believe in regardless of which party they belong to...Oh well a month to go and we'll see what happens...SNP always do well in polls leading up to elections then fall at final hurdle maybe this time it will be different.

One thing before i go...Since when did we give presents at Easter!!!!!...On TV they are advertising CD's and other stuff as easter presents!!!!!...Ok we give easter eggs but nothing else...Am sick fed up of everything getting over commercialised all the time...We give Easter eggs to roll as a sign of the stone being rolled away from Jesus tomb...We do NOT give presents...Better go and make tea now.

Caff glad the boys are enjoying their Easter break It must be hard finding things for them to do everyday ~ It will be nice for you to go see K at the weekend hope the new medication don't cause her any problems ~ sounds like you bought some bargains in Poundland ~ glad you got your heat gun look forward to seeing some pictures of your cards ~ I agree about presents at Easter "Eggs are acceptable" as they have always been ~ it really is getting to commercialised with all the advertising for other gifts for Easter ~ Ally x

Enjoy your time with K.  I want to see Mr. Bean too, I saw the repeat of his last one, still very humerous. Rache

Hope you're all having a lovely Easter Caff.
When I was a kid, we had one Easter Egg, usually in a mug, he he, but we were happy with that.  J had 8 this year!  8!!  Madness!!!
Time off school should be banned, they have weekends, what more do they need ;o)
