Warm wednesday

The money went in yesterday...24 weeks worth...It's a lot of money but after spending a fair bit on the car and giving K some as she is very short of cash just now until her next student loan payment comes through it won't go far LOL...Was rather pleased with finding a bargain in argos...4gb MP3 player for £29.99...It's on promotion although not advertised anywhere as being on promotion...£40 off it...So bought 1 for me as mine is on way out, 1 for K as she needs a bigger one and i have 1 reserved for M so that when his current one dies a death i have a replacement all ready and waiting...He's pretty hard on MP3 players and uses it constantly...We'd be lost without his music as it does help to keep him calm most of the time...I also bought a digital camera in asda last night...They have a sale on nearly all their cameras just now :o) A Canon one and ok it is only 4mp but for snapshots 4mp is good enough...Has 4 x optical zoom although no digital zoom but digital zoom is crap anyways...It came with a memory card but it's a teensy one so i bought a bigger one...The camera was down to £56 which was not bad at all.

I've been spending most of the last few evenings on card making stuff...I need a heat gun and am going to go into town see where i can find cheapest one...Argos do one for £16 but i don't need the other stuff that comes with it...A friend has one she got for a fiver but can't remember where and am sure i have seen one in town somewhere for a fiver as well...I've been making up embossed bits to put on cards hence needing a heat gun...I use a candle just now which is not exactly the safest option LOL...Am deof going to make up samples and photograph them and get them onto some kind of website to see if i can flog any...I managed to find a tool tray with a lid today that i can file the bits i have been making up into...Can use different sections for different lettering/images...Also got different colours of embossing powders too...My living floor is covered in my card stuff LOL...I need a workshop LOL...No chance of getting one like so my living room will suffice...It's clean mess really...Better go and take the boys to their club...Want to watch the footie but am scared to in case i jinx the team...Really want to watch the apprentice but it clashes with grand designs and my video doesn't work...Oh well apprentice gets more exciting in the latter stages anyways...I loved the comic relief version...You just knew either Alastair Campbell or Piers Morgan were gonna get 'You're Fired' ROFL...My alerts have been up the swanney for last few days but they seem to have come back again...I'll have to play catch up on everyones journals please forgive me for not commenting recently.

Review

Moneys not gone in but i did get letter today saying what rates and for how long...So he's been awarded DLA low mobility & middle care until he's 21½ from last oct...Money better go into account on monday or am not gonna be happy LOL...Am trying to find the ombudsman you complain to about how crap the service, customer relations etc with blackpool office are...Am not the only one who had this crap off them...It appears to be a very common occurance although they tell you it's a one off or it's a rare problem...Hmmm guess who's on a mission...Had G's review this morning...It went well apart from MrsP whinging about his hair again LOL...I thought she'd given up...They want to talk to the taxi firm about dropping him off at other school on a thursday on way to main one if they are running late...If taxi is late then he misses the shuttle and there's not always someone able to take him from the base...Hope the taxi firm are alright about that...There has been a lot of roadworks recently and nearly always the thurs that they're late cos of them...His school reports were ready but i just glanced at them and asked her to give them to G to give to me...The careers/future needs advisor is going to talk to the uni's about what kind of support they can give him...Also she's going to ask if they can come into the base nearer the summer to see him there and what they do...He'll be the 2nd pupil from the base to go to uni but he is an individual in his own right and i don't want what was done for the other lad imposed on G...They are really pleased with his progress...The headmaster is well impressed with him...Choices for 6th year get done after easter and at the mo he's looking at doing 2 advanced highers and not sure what else...The careers/future needs woman and ed psych spoke of him doing a more holistic approach to 6th year to get him more independant for uni...The other staff in the base insisted that MrsP put in her report the following...'As senior boy, he often keeps the younger ones in order and helps to re-inforce any insrtuctions we have issued, especially concerning behaviour. He is a delightful, courteous and thoughtful young man who is always willing to chat and is adept at cracking jokes in appropriate situations.' ...She did mention that he doesn't seem to be chewing his cuffs any more when stressed....I said no he's chewing his collar instead LOL...Eating and chewing at his clothes is something he does when stressed...He's always done it and the time when he did manage to stop fully he started self harming instead...I can't replace scratched to bits bleeding skin but i can buy new clothes...It's a lesser of 2 evils really...She had said he still worries about his work a lot, especially when he has a deadline to hand something in...He really has no need to worry but it's so typical aspie...For uni he will be elgibile for disabled student grant which is to buy equipment essential for him to be able to do the course...I am going to put down a PDA as one of the requirements and also one of those mini digital recording devices...that way he can record a lecture in case he can't keep up with note taking...Am pleased with the report and am pleased with how the review went...It was the shortest review i have ever had for G LOL

I was sent this by a friend and i thought it was very funny...Stuart or any other men reading may not but who cares <gggg>

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She  picked up something
off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. 

I  took the item away  from her and I asked her not to do that.
 "Why?" my daughter asked.   "Because it's been laying outside, you don't 
know  where it's been, it's  dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At 
this  point, my daughter  looked at me with total admiration and asked, 
"Wow!  How do you know all  this stuff?"
 "Uh," ....I was thinking quickly, "All  Mums know this stuff. 
It's on the Mummy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a 
Mummy."
 We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but  she was evidently 
pondering this new information. "Oh...I get it!" she  beamed, "So if you 
don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."  "Exactly" I replied back 
with a big smile on my face and joy in my heart.

FINALLY!!!

More twists and turns than you can shake a stick at with this debacle...Last wed that woman told me it would take 1-2 days for the electronic search...So i gave them till fri lunchtime and phoned LOL...She then basically implied i was a liar and said it takes 3-5 days...She said it doesn't get done in blackpool but elsewhere...So i asked where but she refused to tell me...And the results get sent via royal mail to the office that requests it...Well pardon me but this is the technological age and as it was supposed to be urgent then surely they should have asked for the results to be faxed or emailed rather than delivered via royal mail...I phoned MP office again and got told a file had been opened and would be dealt with in due course <sigh> ...Saw welfare rights bloke but he said i was giving him too much information...All he was concerned about was that the claim was backdated to when it had run out...He did seem very keen on writing them a shitty letter as he put it...Well i need to email him now as he doesn't need to anymore...I got a call on mon but i was out and when i phoned back the woman had left for the day...So i called on tues morning...They got the record on mon and have decided to backdate the claim to when it ran out :o) I don't know what rates yet though...Dunno if it will be same as before or changed...Although both amounts backdated 23 weeks is a fair bit one is just under twice as much...IF they have lowered his Care rate then guess who will be kicking up a stink again LOLOL...The money should be in my account either by end of the week or next mon...Fingers crossed it's end of the week...Am still not happy about the missing file though or the way i was treated...It's so common down there something should and needs doing about it...And no G is NOT getting over a thousand pounds LOL...That will be put to better use than he'd do with it.

On mon i had a meeting in the morning about the Triple A team they go to...We need to decide where the group is going, what funding we can get, what the boys & girl all wish to do...We have another meeting a week on fri to discuss it more...In the afternoon i went to M's school show...I forgot to take a camera but am hoping for some pics off another couple of parents...It was fab :o) His school shows always are...They have a subject at his school called enterprise...So two of the olderlads were discussing what enterprise actually was all about...Then they were confronted by 2 people beaming in LOL...M as captain kirk and one of the other lads as an engineer...There was supposed to be a navigation officer too but poor lad is off sick...So captain kirk and scotty took them on a tour of the galaxy on the starship enterprise to see what enterprise was about...All the classes did a turn and both M, and his 3 friends had a fair bit of dialogue to remember...One of the girls in their class stood in for the lad who is ill and she did really well...It was a lot of fun and all the kids were fantastic :o) ...After the show M and me had a meeting with the bloke from the council who runs local youth committee...M wants to follow in K's footsteps and join the group and then hopefully become an MSYP as well...He's going to represent the Triple A team on the group...I think it will be really good for him and he should do well...He thinks he will manage without support but am not so sure...Am going to talk to my social worker about getting a supporter put in place.

My alerts seem to be all over the shop just now and some am getting, some am not then some come through hours after someones made an entry

Well they took their time in phoning me LOL...I checked online mid morning on the royal mail website tracking bit and my post had been delivered...Blackpool phoned about 1.30 to tell me...Sods law i was indisposed at the time so a message had been left...Saying they had got the form and it had gone straight to decision maker and decision would be made within 3 days...I phoned LOL and the woman who had called was with the decision maker at the time...They have plenty info from his school :o) There is still a snag...The snag it was sent to Blackpool for in first place grrrrr...When to backdate it too...So going by that then he IS getting his DLA just depends from when...She said had i been late sending back the form which i said no...That Edinburgh had sent me a form to fill in all about it being *missing* before so it could be backdated to oct...As i said that form is now obviously missing along with the rest of his file...And i didn't want any more delays by having to fill in another, which she understood and agreed with...What she needs is the info on computer screen...ALL the past info ever on G...So she has started a complete electronic search which will take a day...Dunno if someone has to sit down an manually go through every single reference to G on computer records or if they have some proggy that auto does that...Or perhaps both...They need visible evidence of what rates he was on in the past and why he was awarded those rates...After i came off phone i thought i had a brainwave and wished i'd done it yesterday...I went and looked out his previous award letter...So phoned her up and said i had previous award letter in front of me...That last time he was awarded DLA from X date to Y date...I said what rates and why he had been given those rates...I was going to ask if i found somewhere to fax it down for me i would do that...She said thanks for that info as it would help but they still need the evidence at their end...But he is getting the DLA and that's the main thing...I am still going to persue my offical complaint...I have spoken to lots of people who have had similar problem with Blackpool...But one BIG difference...Their or their childrens files have always turned up...G's has NOT turned up at all...In honesty i do not blame edinburgh and i do not blame the specific room in blackpool...But somewhere between that courier bag and it being delivered to the actual room it has disappeared...That is NOT on at all...A WHOLE building search should have turned up this paper file...It's not like it is just one claim form...It's his WHOLE PAST paper history of last 14 years with DLA dept...So not exactly some teensy thin file that gone AWOL...I want that file FOUND...I don't care how LONG it takes i want it found...That is really important to me...If it isn't found then surely they should change G's National Insurance number and mine and get me to change my bank details...Cos that's the confidential info that is missing

Speaking of national insurance number...M's NI card arrived in post today...He opened letter and said what's this...I don't need a card with numbers on it LOL...So i explained he needs the number if he has a job to give to his boss...The card is sent out so you can remember it easier...He said oh that's ok then and took it off the letter and has put it in his pocket LOL

More crap

Hey ho hum de ho...Sorry all i seem to do just now is moan and whinge here...I phoned blackpool on monday...They had done a thorough search of the section his file is supposed to be with and found nothing...They hadn't done a whole building search yet...Wait for this one it so makes you confident NOT with them...EVERY tuesday at 11am a whole building search is done for any missing files...Each section who has a missing file gets told results of that at 2pm...EVERY tues!!!!!!! how many missing files do they get FFS...I actually spoke to the manager today...I didn't know it was 2pm when they get the results back from the search so it was before 2pm...She said she is doing as much as she can but without the file then they're stuck which i can understand cos they can't make a decision without the information...She said to send back the new form regardless as at least then they can look at his case...I said but that be a new claim from whenever you get rather than be backdated to oct...She said no it would get backdated...As i had previously done his form over the summer hols i hadn't bothered getting anyone else to fill in bit that is for someone who knows you well...That section is now optional...So this afternoon i have been out to G's base...MrsP has actually been nice and helpful for once...She filled in whole form for me...Well i had started it and she finished it off...She also filled in that section...As she is used to doing these forms on a regular basis it was so much easier for her to fill in quickly rather than me filling in quickly...We enclosed a sheet with an explanation on what aspergers is LOL and a leaflet about his base...I have just phoned the manager in blackpool again...Guess what!!! Yes his file has NOT turned up on the search...So where heck it has gone is anyones guess...Edinburgh put it in the courier bag and sent it off, courier bag was delivered to blackpool and after that well it's disappeared into the ether...Still not happy about that at all...Manager at blackpool, who is actually pleasant, said be sods law that it will turn up once they have looked at this new form and made a decision...I have informed her that i have sent the form off this afternoon by special next day delivery and it will arrive before 1pm tomorrow...That i want it looked at immediately and a decision made there and then...They won't need to contact anyone else as there is enough information from MrsP for themto know how he is...She has assured me i will be called to say they have it...They have my mobile number so they can phone it...I can't remember what i have on tomorrow...Got so much stuff on just now i dunno whether am coming or going...So there you go all G's personal details and my NI number and bank details are floating around somewhere unknown...LOVELY grrrrrrrr...Not heard back from my MP but hopefully will do soon...I'll still go to welfare rights appointment as this happens to too many people and they need a kick up the backside.

G is rich LOL...He's got £150 so far in birthday money...He also has a fair bit of EMA money in his bank account...So he wants to buy an XBox 360 now...What is with men and all these games consoles...He has a nintendo gameboy advanceSP still, a nintendoDS, a PS2 and the nintendo Wii...There are 2 games he wants that you only get for the dratted XBox 360 thing...MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...I now have a router thing from AOL which i need to try and set up, that's gonna be fun...My head is minced totally just now...K is loving her new digs...These people are doing everything for her that they reckon she is struggling with...Like helping her cook, helping her with her washing etc etc...Nice people :o) K is doing a DLA form too as her mobility has been affected quite badly...Oh joy, oh joy LOL...Fingers crossed she will have no hassles with them just like i've had no hassles for last 14 years until now.

Bad to Worse

Those expletives deleted down in Blackpool are worse than incompetent...Lovely woman from Edinburgh phoned me this morning...She found out that Blackpool NO LONGER have a customer services dept...Nice ain't it they do away with a dept and they don't inform their satellite offices!!!!!...That any complaints go to the heads of whatever dept within the office that are dealing with the claim etc...Well great IF you happen to know which flaming room it is that is dealing with you...Anyway the lovely woman from Edinburgh got to speak to the head manager who PROMISED to phone me personally...Has she heck...She got one of her underlings to phone me...Who said it's NOT in that room and they will have to search the whole office, which i have been told is HUGE :o(  ...This underling i spoke to has not even offered me an apology, and said i may need to fill in another form!!!!...She is sending one out today 1st class so i should have it mon or tues...Hmmmm can;t say i trust them but we'll see...I went into carers centre in tears after the call i got from blackpool as i was sat in costa round corner from there...They said to go to welfare rights to see about how to put in an official legal complaint...So went there and have appointment for next fri to go about it...I also phoned edinburgh when i got home to keep them up to date with what transpired today as lovely woman said to let her know how i was getting on...She is horrified and disgusted and angry that some underling phoned and not the manager...I told her about me seeing welfare rights ans said even if it is all sorted out fine EVENTUALLY i am still making complaint...That i would be praising edinburgh office and making sure the contrast between the two places is known...And that i was gonna contact my MP...She said i was well within my rights and she would do the same...She also said i shouldn't say this as they are colleagues but they have been useless...She was going to talk to her customer services dept although she has done as much as she can but she wants it sorted out for me...She's also gonna make sure that blackpool lot know i have contacted my MP...Am still angry, more upset and don't need to feel like this am fed up of all the stress it's causing...I may even sue them over it all...After all this is my sons highly PERSONAL details that have been LOST...His whole paper file with EVERYTHING on it...From how he is with his condition, his national insurance number, date of birth, full name the whole caboodle...If that got into the wrong hands then i dread to think what could happen...Phoned my MP local office and they were nice...I have to put it all down in email and send to him to look at...And the secretary i spoke to there said they have a contact in DLA office at Blackpool specifically for enquiries from MP's <ggg> Told her am gonna copy in MSP, and head of DWP...Head of DWP is who my MP would be talking to anyways but no harm me emailing myself too

Rant over sorry...IT's actually G's birthday today...HE doesn't know it yet as i ain't wrapped them but he has Wii Play game with free controller, another nunchuck controller for his Wii, new Sonic game for his Wii and a bag for putting it all in...He's got £60 in birthday money so far...Tomorrow he has 3 friends coming round and i still haven't cleaned up and tidied the place...Will do that tonight...Waiting for K to get home on the bus and she's gonna text me when she's near hear so i can go pick her up...Better go wrap his pressies and have a calming coffee LOL

RANT big time sorry

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...Can anyone tell my exactly WHAT is the point in having a customer service department if the customer/client is NOT allowed to talk to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Edinburgh DLA office are nice, pleasant, HELPFUL, COMPETENT, well mannered, actually give their name so you know who you're talking to...Blackpool are the total OPPOSITE...What a bunch of useless, INCOMPETENT, idiots...Who incidentally do NOT give their name so you have NO idea who you are talking to...G's DLA claim has gone MISSING again somewhere down in the Blackpool office...I am pissed off, angry, upset, tearing my hair out and i have been in tears today...Yesterday i phoned blackpool again after midday to chase it up and see if it had actually arrived yet...I got some total eejit on the helpline who a) told me a decision was made on the 23rd feb which is a complete LIE and b) insisted that i needed put through to Edinburgh and NOT the specific dept in Blackpool...I told him no Edinburgh sent his claim down to Blackpool and it is Blackpool dept i need to talk to...So he put me through to guess where...Yups you got it Edinburgh <sigh> ...I got lovely Andrew again in Edinburgh...Poor bloke he recognises my voice now LOL...He advised me to phone Blackpool again today after midday and to ask to speak to the relevant dept and also to speak to customer services...So 12.30 i phones them up and got some real dozy eejit on phone...Despite phonetically spelling out G's name and his NI number she insisted he wasn't on the system and couldn't be found!!!! I then said ok can i be put through to the customer service dept or the relevant dept there please...She said no as he wasn't on the system...I said he is now please put me through to customer services...So what did she do...She HUNG UP on me!!!!!...I saw red and promptly phoned edinburgh...Different fella but lovely and he said phone them back and demand to speak to customer services as this is beyond a joke now...So i phoned them back and the woman i spoke to said customer services don't take calls but she did make a note to pass on of my complaint of being hung up on but not the others...She then passed me through to the correct relevant dept...Now bear in mind that G's claim was marked as URGENT a month ago now...Well surprise surprise they can't find it...So woman said she would phone edinburgh after she got off phone to me and find out exactly where in blackpool office it was sent down to...And she'd call me back tomorrow...Well being the trustworthy person i am of them by now NOT i waited a couple of hours and phoned Edinburgh myself...So nice bloke took note of it all and said he'd talk to the others in their office see if anyone had phoned from blackpool and phone me back...Well after an hour waiting i have just phoned them again...He did ask around and no-one had called so he called them and someone there said they would phone me...Did the heck NO they did NOT...Edinburgh now have my mobile number as well as landline...The lovely woman i just spoke to was shocked that i wasn't allowed to talk to customer services...She is phoning blackpool and kicking their backsides as they have NOT looked hard enough to find this URGENT claim details...She is also going to talk to customer services in blackpool and kick their backsides and explain how unhappy i am and how unimpressed i am and how unimpressed they are too...She is going to demand that customer services in the blackpool office contact me directly tomorrow...And instead of having blackpool incompetent eejits phone me about his claim she is going to phone me instead...I am seriously considering writing to my MSP and MP...In fact i may just contact the CAB too and ask how i can make an extremely formal complaint about all the stress and hassle this is causing...And actually i think i may just bypass MSP and MP and email the head of DWP direct...The amount of lies and total fabrications that the blackpool helpline lot have given to me over the last 5 weeks is ludicrous...It's an utter farce and would be laughable if it wasn't so important and having a knock on effect on other things too...Fourteen years i have been dealing with DLA offices and i have never had any of this crap before...Am angry can you tell <ggg> Am more than angry i am so so unhappy i feel like jumping in my car and driving down to Blackpool and telling them face to face exactly what i think of their total and utter incompetence...At this rate i do pray that they give him a Life award and i do feel like asking for compensation for all my phonecalls...The reason i do keep phoning is because i am so afraid he is lost in their system again which he has been this week FFS

On a good note i got a letter from the House of Commons again this week...Remember i said my MP got back to me about the NAS campaign thing and he said he would write to me again after he heard back from the dept of skills & education...Well he did hear back and he's sent me a copy of the letter and he has signed the EDM :o) So that's good and am pleased...Think i will go have a cup of coffee and calm down

This 'n' That

Can't remember what i was going to write the other day as i got busy and forgot to come back to doing entry again...That's my old age setting in <ggg> ...More than likely it was mainly drivel anyway :o) ...I've just been to pick up G from his other school...He went white all of a sudden and had a sore stomach...When i phoned the base they said one of the staff there has just had the same...Must be a bug as he was fine this morning and he was fine when he left for his class at other school...Do hope he's over it quick as it's his birthday on fri...It's my younger sisters today...Was my horrible sis in laws yesterday...2 of my nieces have birthdays this month and 1 nephew and oldest nephew his wifes is this month too...My mum hates march for birthdays LOL...G was at a birthday part on sat for one of his friends from the base and he has a 21st birthday party next week for one of the lads who used to be in the base...Must be something in the water in late may/june time LOL

K has moved and she is a lot happier where she is staying now :o) ...From what she's said they're a lovely couple who are mothering her LOL...She's still having problems medically but one day we will get there...M has got lead role in his school show :o) ...He's playing Captain Kirk and is chuffed to bits...He loves Star Trek mainly my bad influence there <ggg> ...That's later this month and they do 2 shows...One of his friends is playing Scotty and his name is Scott LOL

DLA well what can i say...G's case has turned all complicated :o( ...Just phoned Blackpool who wanted to fob me off at first....Asked the woman who must be receptionist to put me through to the dept which she did...Woman i got there asked if she could phone me back as she couldn't understand why Edinburgh would send his claim down to them...Told her i knew why and explained it all...Well their internal mailing/courier service must be as bad as the NHS one...His file was sent off last wed and as far as she can find they haven't got it yet grrrr...She's going to go and look thoroughly though...I did tell her i will be calling them nearly every day now until this is all sorted out...His claim has gone to Blackpool because it's supposed to be a renewal and not a new claim...So backdated to beg oct NOT dec...She can understand why i would phone them all the time as his claim has already gone AWOL once and it's now dragging along and i want to make sure it doesn't go AWOL again...I don't even know if it's been decided he will still get DLA, what rates etc...This is having a knock on effect in other areas and it's doing my head in...It's being marked as URGENT AGAIN...I personally want it dealt with and completed by end of this week ROFL...Yeah right not much chance of that...Did tell her it's always been straight foreward before and never had any problems in the 14 years i have been dealing with about both the boys...As far as am concerned they can now treat his claim as fast track which is only supposed to be for terminally ill...I pointed out that being backdated to oct and if kept on same rates then he's now due approx £1170 and counting...She agreed it needs sorted out ASAP...Wish us luck LOL

On a good note the bathroom is now finished :o) ...The flooring was laid yesterday and i phoned the loss adjustors and informed them so once they have all the receipts in the claim can get closed...My pilot light in boiler went out on fri night and had plumber out yesterday relighting it cos it's such a pain and i did try and gave up...As he said it's a shame that the leak from upstairs hadn't come down through the kitchen and onto the boiler LOL...Denise my dragons aren't scary they are beautiful :oP ...Debs if you look on the fav sites section on my sidebar click on Tudor Mint and they're who make most of the dragons i have :o) ...Now am saving this before i lose it...Better go to shop quick and get M's stuff before he gets home from school

Grrrrrrr did a huge long entry and got booted so lost it all...I can't be bothered rewriting it all just now so will do it laters or tomorrow...Think it was adding the pics...I got booted again when i tried to just add the pics...The pics are of the 3 new dragons i got the other week...The Icealtor one is the one K bought me :o) Thank you hunny again he's gorgeous :o)
