Two exams down one to go...Maths he reckons he has got an A for...No A* up here for Highers like you get with A levels...Never really understood the star bit myself...He did say it was more challenging than other maths exams he's had...Mainly because there was a lot of algebra in it and he prefers other maths stuff...Then again his idea of challenging would be anyone else's idea of utter nightmare LOL...He had technological studies one today...He reckons he has got an A in it too...But he did say some of it he struggled with due to the paper being very badly printed and hard to read...The staff member from the base who was transcribing it is putting in a formal complaint as she also found it very poorly printed and hard to decipher...Then again it will have been same for all of the pupils so they will take that into account...He's pretty good at knowing exactly what grade he will get in an exam so i don't doubt that he is most likely correct...M had a maths test and he got 15 out of 20 which is brilliant, him doing the mainstream standard grade so far is working out extremely well :o) It's also making him feel good about himself because he is doing well.
My car has been in garage since tues and just got a call saying it is ready to pick up tomorrow...what the damage is financially i don't yet know LOL...I don't think it can have failed the MOT that badly...Am praying it was the exhaust that was wrong and not the hydraulic suspension...We left it to the MOT to find out as it was due MOT anyways so would need fixing regardless...Possibly some new tyres along with whatever was clanking...I know they were really busy this week with a lot of MOT's which is why it will have taken so long to be ready...But it does mean we won't get to edinburgh this weekend :o( We were going to take bus down last weekend but as K was out of hossy we decided to wait until car was ready for a long trip...Oh well next weekend is closer to my birthday so can take K and her fella out for a meal with me and the boys down there instead of just me and the boys up here :o)
G got his bonus EMA this week...For those that don't know what it is EMA is educational maintenance allowance...It does depend on parental income...They get either £30, £20 or £10 per week for staying on at school or college from 16-18...IFparents earn more than £30,000 per year then they don't get it...I don't think that's fair but not a lot i can do about it....G gets £30 per week...If they are NOT in school or college without good reason (ie: ill) then they don't get paid it...They have to sign a contract stating what they will achieve in the time they are in education...If they have had perfect or near perfect payments and attained their goals then in january they get a bonus £150...Then in either may or june if the same happens between jan and then they get another £150 bonus...So he had already not spent some of his and along with his bonus and his fortnightly payment it was burning a huge hole in his bank account LOL...He was trying to save most of it up to buy the new Nintendo Wii games console...He did use some of what he saved to buy his own xmas pressies for people :o) So last night when he got home from school this money he got on wed was burning that hole...Now the Nintendo Wii is still in very short supply...Instead of him going into town and trawling round the shops i suggested he phone them first...Muggins here had to do the phoning...Lucky lad as Toys R Us had got a delivery yesterday morning and still had in stock...So we hot footed it round there and now he is proud owner of a Wii...He disconnected the game cube and set it all up himself...Just as well cos am useless LOL...And joy of joys i barely saw or heard from him and M all yesterday evening HURRAH...Am being told that i must try it as it is fun and really makes you feel much more part of the game...Hmmm yeah right, we're talking about someone who couldn't play a sinclair zx spectrum or a commodore 64 ROFL...Am totally and utterly useless at playing any games except for space invaders...Oh well at least i now can have ideas for his birthday in march...Mind you he wants a new moby but am sure i can get a cheapo one and some accessories for his Wii...What a daft name for something that is everytime i say it it makes me want the loo LOL
It's been a crap start to the year so am hoping against hope that now it's a new month the year will get better...I didn't get my loan, don't ask but the lenders the loan company use decided to change their minds at last minute...All because i bought the flat in my maiden name before i was married...They wanted me to change the deeds to my married name...Sod that it costs a fortune and anyways am divorced now so don't see why is should...They got enough proof that i am who i say i am and the loan people agreed but out of their hands :o( Between the flu bug which turned gastric flu bug and another minor health scare i've had my fill for this year in space of 3 weeks LOL...I found a lump day before xmas eve...Wasn't too fussed as it was sore and sore usually means not cancerous...But with my older sis, 3 of my close friends and K worrying that started me off...I did ask GP about it when i was along for my 6 weekly appointment...So yes i did have a lump but not in my actual breast...It was under the breast and some kind of inflamation of intercostal muscles (the ones between the ribs) hence the pain...He said it can just happen and should go away by end of jan to mid feb...It naffed off last week :o) Also with K having been in hospital it's been a right crappy time...Not going into detail about that but for those i didn't email that is why i haven't been writing in here...Anyways Feb is a good month as it contains my birthday and the fluey/gastric bug means i've lost a lot of the weight i put on with the AD's HURRAH...It's also staying off bigger HURRAH :o) Also having a slight ding dong with DLA...I had tried contacting them several times before xmas and when i got engaged i kept forgetting to call back...Then G got a letter about his claim from dec last week...hmmm called and did get through and woman i spoke to put me through to a very nice man in edinburgh office...So nice man sent me a form to fill in to get G's claim backdated to when it was due for renewal as the form he said must have been lost/overlooked/mislaid somewhere...If they decide he will still get same rate care and mobility then that is £940 of backpayment so far and counting until they make a decision...I have to apply again to be his appointee so am gonna ask DSS up here if i can just get Gs and Ms done at same time as i have form in to be Ms appointee to send back...At least i didn't get the usual bullshit i do when i phone DLA to talk to someone, most impressed i wish i had written down the mans name so i could write in a compliment about him.
I promise i will catch up on everyones entries and try and leave comments soon...Going to take a leaf out of a friends book and go and cook a salad for myself LOL
Take care toodle pip xx

ZX Spectrum, wow, that takes me back!! My Brother would never let me play with his, which I think could be why I'm so hooked on my PS2 now :o) Hope you have fun on the wii, giggle!
