The joys of sex education

Well it's later on and i have a headache from all the varnish fumes...Feel sick with them too...Horrible stuff but glad it's almost done...Decorator is back tomorrow to varnish the ceiling and that should be him done...Can laugh at it all earlier now like

When G got home i asked him about his last prelim result...He didn't have Graphic Communication today but he did bump into his teacher...His teacher said he got 70 something percent and that is an A pass as well...Will find out for defo tomorrow the result...K has done extremely well at uni for first semester, module erm am not sure what it's called i know it's not a term LOL...She'll sort me out when she leaves a comment <ggg> ...She's moving on sat to a new place HURRAH!!!!...It sounds really nice and the people in new place sound really nice...K darling read no further because you threatened to block me earlier LOL...I have to write it it's too funny not to :oP

I was sat here quietly reading some boards and emailing with Stuart when M caught me unawares...He came through from his room plonked himself down on the sofa and said 'you know i have been learning abotu STI's' ...I said no i din't but i am guessing that you had caledonia youth in today doing this weeks talk...They're the people doing sex and relationships education with his age group all this term at his school...I put the timetable parents got given in one of those *safe* places LOL...So he then said 'you know what an STI is don't you' ...I said yes i do...Thinking to myself is he going to ask me if i'd have one LOL...He didn't and i haven't LOL...He said they saw pictures of them and they were digusting and made him feel like he was going to puke...So thought ok better chat as he seems to want to chat about it...So i asked what do you do to prevent getting any STI's...He said 'not have any sex'...Well that's not always possible so what would you do asks me...You can wear a condom says he but there is a risk as it can split...And that was the end of our discussion as he wandered off back to his room...It was so funny, the joys of being a parent...Matter of fact, straight to the point, be totally logical autistic...Don't have sex then no STI...As he's vowed never to have another girlfriend then that would make sense to him...I am pleased he is wanting to speak about what he is learning and he has refused so far as he's felt embarassed but obviously STI's aren't embarassing...And am ending it there don't get nightmares ;o)

Too many workmen

Well the joiner was round yesterday from the builders to do the ceiling...No sparky as he was able to undo light and fan himself...So got nice new ceiling :o) ...Great at last but oh noooooo later in evening...Floor was wet under loo cistern it was dry in the morning...Now this happened once years n years ago...Slight knock to the copper pipe under there and drip appeared...Reckon either stepladder or wood from ceiling dunted against it...So phones builders this morning so they sent a plumber...Lovely fella, he has a nice bum <G>, when fixing it he noticed something else...See the pipe gets knocked slightly it moves the washer inside cistern hence drip...When he was replacing that washer he noticed the washer for my overflow was on verge of perishing...So nice bloke said he's change it cos he has loads in van...Nice gesture BUT when he was putting that bit back in he only went and snapped it LOL...So he had to go buy new float part...Oh and decorator broke part of light fitting...But that doesn't matter it was old and i have a new one...Decorator has done the ceiling and needs to come back tomorrow to varnish it...He's varnishing the walls just now and am going out to shop cos i need fresh air the smell is killing me...More laters as i do have other news

weekend stuff

Well last wed i went out shopping with my best pal...I still loathe and detest it but she had a wedding on fri so needed to find shoes etc to go with her dress...Besides it was good to just wander and have a blether with no kids around :o) She did find shoes with matching bag and a necklace/earring set that matched as well...Saw a really nice black dress reduced from £40 to £10 for K...Went back and bought it on fri and it doesn't fit PAH!!!...It just doesn't sit right across her boobs and can't be altered because of the style...shame but hey ho...Bought her shoes instead when we were there on sat...G has two of his prelim (mocks) results back...For his Higher (A level) maths he got 88% and an A pass...For his Higher technological studies he got 86½% and an A result...Just waiting on graphic comm one now which he said they should get on wed...By the way up here in scotland there's no A* an A is the highest you get...Am so so so proud of him...He's doing as well as his big sis did :o) G's money did go in on the wed and he popped out on thurs after school to look at games in town...Well so he said, he came back with some choccy seashells and a dragon for me :o) ...The shop round corner was closing down on the fri and i bought most of what they had left half price...Some teensy dragons and 3 fridge magnet ones...The fridge magnet ones i put on my big metal framed mirror in living room...I had bought 2 of the teensy ones for K and just realised i forgot to take them down DUH!!!!...Forgot to take the boys bus passes too DUH!!!

The boys were off on fri for inservice day and today for the one day half term they get here...On sat we went down to edinburgh to visit K...I feel so much happier now having seen her...Just want her well again properly...We went into the city centre as she wanted to take me to the dragon shop on the royal mile...Bad bad bad idea...I was good though and i didn't spend any money i don't have...I could have bought the whole shop just about LOL...Well all the dragons and all the fairys for K...Well some of the dragons too for her as she likes them as well...She told me to pick one i wanted for my birthday...Bad girl wanted to spend more than i would let her...Even what she spent was too much...And yes i know you read this hunny so :oP ...Am not ungrateful i just don't need lots of money spent on me...I do love my new dragon though and i bought 2 flying ones as well with some of my birthday money...It was a beautiful day down there...M actually enjoyed seeing some of the sights in edinburgh which he's never liked before...We didn't actually go and visit any just looked at them as walking along...Like the castle and scott monument...Before when we have actually been in edinburgh M hasn't liked it but he did on sat...We were only down for the day and it would have been nice to stay longer...I was good and remembered K's guitar LOL...Forgotton it the last few times...Was so tired yesterday as that's the longest i've driven since i had the flu thing and all the walking as well...Got K some cycling gloves which hopefully will help her hands not feel so sore with the crutches.

G is off out to a friends for the afternoon/evening so me and M are just lazing about...I do need to do a mass clean and tidy before the workmen come round on wed...Just had to phone them as i forgot when the date was arranged to ask what time they'd be here...Just phoned them and whoops...They'll be arriving when am taking M to school...The woman is phoning the joiner to ask if he can arrive just before 8am so i can let them in before i nip off to take M to school...And that's my catch up for the last week.

tuesday

Am knackered doing not a lot really but that will be old age settling in being 44 now LOL...Phone went at 8.20 just as i was about to go to the loo...Does anyone else find that soons they need the loo invariably the phone rings LOL...Was big sis wishing me happy birthday and by time we were finished i didn't need LOL...Then my mum had tried phoning whilst i was at the bakers but i hadn't checked answering thingy when i got back...Then phone went again just before 10 when i was in the ladies LOL...It stopped then promptly rang again...So here's me running to get it and it stopped...Moby rang was one of my friends asking what i was doing as she wanted to take me out for lunch for my birthday :o) Went to the shop to pick up my magazines and guess what phone had gone again LOL...Phoned little sis back and phoned mum back...Poor mum apologising for not having posted my card...Said didn't matter am not that worried about it...She's down again just now mainly cos they had snow all last week and she was stuck indoors...So highlight of my day wasn't the DSS but a very nice very filling pub lunch of fish and chips in town and natter with my friend :o) DSS took all of oh 10 mins LOL...Still need to hand in letter from the GP...Lovely woman who saw me at DSS and as she said how many 16 year olds are capable of looking after own finances anyway...Like properly look after them...She's sending the original to edinburgh and a photocopy to blackpool <ggg>  My friend also gave me a teal coloured vase she knew i had been eyeing up :o) ...Got nothing from the boys but Gs money doesn't go into his account until tomorrow and am really not hassled if i get any pressies...K said i have to watch out for the post but she better just have posted a card cos i can pick up pressie in person...Am too full up to eat anymore today and the boys have club so might just get them chips from chippy...Do have a creme egg to eat so will leave you for today...How do you eat yours LOL

Bit of a rant

Grrrrrr...I've never had any hassle off DLA before in all the years i have been dealing with them, which is 14 years now...What a flaming pilaver with them just now though...Oh and they don't let you know what's going on you only find by phoning them...Poor bloke in Edinburgh got a bit fo verbal off me this morning...Right i said the other week they had *lost* G's renewal form...Well i did fill in the form the bloke sent me and sent it back the other week...That was fun LOL...Like how am i supposed to know what post box i posted something in back in aug/sept or remember if i posted anything else at same time and they arrived FFS...Anyways on fri i got a letter from the DSS asking me to come in this friday to be made G's appointee...Fine no problem...On sat a letter arrived from the DLA people to say they still hadn't made a decision...So why do i get made appointee when they ain't made a decision...Good question so i phoned them this morning...Now the main office is in Blackpool and that is the number you get to phone LOL...Well the woman i spoke to in Blackpool today told me the biggest load of bull going...I actually had something else i needed to ask anyways...Addy for sending back form to say i wish to be M's appointee cos i can't find the prepaid envelope...I did mention might be easier to just get both done at same time but she wasn't for having any of that LOL...She said i may not need to be seen by DSS as they base it on individual cases...Hmmm pile of crap i thought to myself but said nowt...Anyways about G's she said she was looking on her screen at his case and a decision was going to be made within next 3 days...Great i thought but give me Edinburgh phone number or pass me through to them please...So she gave me the number...So hangs up and goes to phone Edinburgh see if i can get nice blokey again <ggg> Found a message on phone asking if i can phone DSS to change my appointment time for fri...Fine will phone her back after phoned Edinburgh...Ain't life lovely LOLOLOL...So got someone called Andrew who passed me through to another Andrew...2nd one was nice blokey from the other week :o) So the letter from sat was one the computer system churns out as matter of course after X amount of weeks...What a waste of money...And no they will not be making a decision in next 3 days...His case is ON HOLD...The computer screen says it's ON HOLD...The woman from Blackpool was telling porky pies...It's on HOLD because they are waiting for ME to be made his appointee...THEN they will make the decision...I started to get narky at this point...I said why does it take so long to get a letter ackowledging they have received the application in the first place...Why didn't they send a letter saying it was ON HOLD until i am made his appointee...It doesn't take that long to read a flaming form FFS...Told him that this is first time in 14 years that they have been so incompetent and taken so long...IF they award him DLA again and at same rate they are owe him a lot of money...Even if it's not backdated to beg oct...He was nice and did admit it's ridiculous that they take so long to read applications...He's not an assessor so out of his hands which is fair enough i suppose, just he's the poor sod getting the flak off me...They have gathered together his current application, my form about his application being *lost*, *mislaid* whatever, and the info about his previous awards...All they need now is the appointee stuff...He said it could take several weeks after that...Guess who saw red at that point <G> That's when i said look someone already mislaid his form somewhere, i don't care if it was you lot of the post office it was mislaid/lost...The longer this takes the more incompetent you will look...I appreciate the rates he gets may change but there is no way he can't not get DLA at all...He's put down that as soon as they get the appointee stuff it will be treated as URGENT <G> As i pointed out if they backdate to beg oct and he gets same rate as before then as off just now they are due him £930+ a weeks worth...He was nice i'll give him that...And i said i have form to send back about becoming appointee for my other son who has a life award and is 16 in May...The woman in Blackpool said i wouldn't necessarily have to go to DSS to be approved...He said everyone has to regardless of what level of award and for how long...I said well that's what i thought and the woman in Blackpool is incompetent...He sighed and said yes she's told you a pile of rubbish...So then after speaking to him i phoned the woman at DSS...Up here they dodn't do home visit they ask that you go into the office...If the person you're being made appointee for can't make it then you need a GP letter...I explained to the DSS woman all i had on phone and she sighed and said sounds about right...She's supposed to send the info to Blackpool who then pass it on to the area office BUT because this is urgent and Edinburgh are waiting for this bit only she's going to send to BOTH offices :o) She said a letter from school would do but am getting one from GP...Don't want MrsP aka hitler having anything to do with this LOL...Basically G doesn't WANT to take care of his own affairs...He's having enough problems coping with his EMA money without adding more on top...At some point in the future then yes he will be fine about being in charge of it all but not quite yet...And instead of changing my appointment to earlier on the fri it's now tomorrow afternoon :o) I went to docs to order up a letter and it might be ready by tomorrow lunchtime but it depends if GP can get it signed in time...No probs as defo ready for wed and i can hand it in to the woman at the DSS then...So highlight of my birthday will be sitting in the DSS ROFL

We didn't make it down to Edinburgh on sat as the weather was not good between Dundee and the Forth bridge so didn't risk it...So peeved as i desperately want to see K...G is back at school now as he's finished his prelims...No results back yet but hey today was first day back LOL...M is watching celeb version of supermarket sweep just now LOL...Must say i did like it when it used to be on years ago...Still not got the bill for the car LOL...Least it's not bouncing anymore :o) And i've not being up to anything interesting hence no entries...Oh the builders are finally coming on the 21st to do the bathroom HURRAH...And the flooring lot are gonna phone on the 22nd to see if they are finished so they can put the flooring down they have been storing all this time LOL...If Gs DLA is backdated to oct then gonna get new flooring for the hall and new beds for the boys...Then rest can be used for other stuff like clothes for them both...Horrible very rainy day here, we didn't have much snow last week as such...Prefer snow to rain though...Excuse the rant but needed to get it off my chest

monday

Well i got the car back on saturday morning...Talk about kangaroo petrol, or diesel in my case, LOL...The car has hydraulic suspension which is fine except for speed bumps...Well when i picked the car up it was so high off the ground i felt like i was clambering into a 4 x 4 when i got into it...Then it bounced and bounced and bounced on way home...The cobbles in my street were hellish...I felt so sick...So parked the car in front of the flat HURRAH...Kept adjusting the lever for the suspension but made no difference...By that time garage was closed so thought grrrr gonna take it back first thing mon morning...As i managed to get parked in front of the flat i decided to wash it...I did manage but reaching the middle of the roof was a nightmare even on my tiptoes...So spent sat grumping about some stupid mechanic at garage that screwed up my suspension...Had to nip to asda late last nite and again i played around with the suspension lever in the car...Well low and behold once i started the car and the stop light went off the car lowered to the right position HURRAH...No more bouncy bouncy making me seasick LOL

Do you remember the NAS make school make sense campaign that me and Sara highlighted in our journals??? Well i got a letter from the House of Commons this morning...From my MP and here's what it said

Dear Ms <blank>

Thank you very much for your recent email regarding the Disabled Children (Family Support) Bill. I have not yet signed the EDM 321 which you refer to but i shall look at it very carefully. As requested I have written to the Secretary of State for Education and Skills and the Secretary of State for Health, and i will be in touch again as soon as i have responses.

Yours sincerely Frank Doran MP

Strange idea of recent LOL but at least i got a reply...I must write to my MSP about it also, that has to be done via snail mail and not email. But at least my MP did maybe read the email and may sign the EDM LOLOL...Wish i had Anne Begg instead although Frank Doran ain't too bad...But i bets Anne would sign the EDM...Need to go see how you can find out who has signed a specific EDM.

The boys have both been playing on the Wii loads so it's been peaceful all weekend BLISS...No arguements over stuff on it YET...Long may that continue...G has no school until wed so is being typical teen, not getting up till later, lazing in his jimjams all day LOL...M is home from school coughing and spluttering so possibly coming down with a cold, he sounds sniffly too...AS longs G doesn't get it...K's boyfriend has had the fluey bug and she is coughing with sore throat and tight chest...Well they can't blame me, i had it, got over it and none of them got it off me LOL...It's cold here today with rain and snow mixed...Not sleet as such but rain with big snowflakes falling amongst it but melting soons they touch the ground...Anyways must go buy some gas for the meter

real start to the year i hope LOL

Two exams down one to go...Maths he reckons he has got an A for...No A* up here for Highers like you get with A levels...Never really understood the star bit myself...He did say it was more challenging than other maths exams he's had...Mainly because there was a lot of algebra in it and he prefers other maths stuff...Then again his idea of challenging would be anyone else's idea of utter nightmare LOL...He had technological studies one today...He reckons he has got an A in it too...But he did say some of it he struggled with due to the paper being very badly printed and hard to read...The staff member from the base who was transcribing it is putting in a formal complaint as she also found it very poorly printed and hard to decipher...Then again it will have been same for all of the pupils so they will take that into account...He's pretty good at knowing exactly what grade he will get in an exam so i don't doubt that he is most likely correct...M had a maths test and he got 15 out of 20 which is brilliant, him doing the mainstream standard grade so far is working out extremely well :o) It's also making him feel good about himself because he is doing well.

My car has been in garage since tues and just got a call saying it is ready to pick up tomorrow...what the damage is financially i don't yet know LOL...I don't think it can have failed the MOT that badly...Am praying it was the exhaust that was wrong and not the hydraulic suspension...We left it to the MOT to find out as it was due MOT anyways so would need fixing regardless...Possibly some new tyres along with whatever was clanking...I know they were really busy this week with a lot of MOT's which is why it will have taken so long to be ready...But it does mean we won't get to edinburgh this weekend :o(  We were going to take bus down last weekend but as K was out of hossy we decided to wait until car was ready for a long trip...Oh well next weekend is closer to my birthday so can take K and her fella out for a meal with me and the boys down there instead of just me and the boys up here :o)

G got his bonus EMA this week...For those that don't know what it is EMA is educational maintenance allowance...It does depend on parental income...They get either £30, £20 or £10 per week for staying on at school or college from 16-18...IFparents earn more than £30,000 per year then they don't get it...I don't think that's fair but not a lot i can do about it....G gets £30 per week...If they are NOT in school or college without good reason (ie: ill) then they don't get paid it...They have to sign a contract stating what they will achieve in the time they are in education...If they have had perfect or near perfect payments and attained their goals then in january they get a bonus £150...Then in either may or june if the same happens between jan and then they get another £150 bonus...So he had already not spent some of his and along with his bonus and his fortnightly payment it was burning a huge hole in his bank account LOL...He was trying to save most of it up to buy the new Nintendo Wii games console...He did use some of what he saved to buy his own xmas pressies for people :o) So last night when he got home from school this money he got on wed was burning that hole...Now the Nintendo Wii is still in very short supply...Instead of him going into town and trawling round the shops i suggested he phone them first...Muggins here had to do the phoning...Lucky lad as Toys R Us had got a delivery yesterday morning and still had in stock...So we hot footed it round there and now he is proud owner of a Wii...He disconnected the game cube and set it all up himself...Just as well cos am useless LOL...And joy of joys i barely saw or heard from him and M all yesterday evening HURRAH...Am being told that i must try it as it is fun and really makes you feel much more part of the game...Hmmm yeah right, we're talking about someone who couldn't play a sinclair zx spectrum or a commodore 64 ROFL...Am totally and utterly useless at playing any games except for space invaders...Oh well at least i now can have ideas for his birthday in march...Mind you he wants a new moby but am sure i can get a cheapo one and some accessories for his Wii...What a daft name for something that is everytime i say it it makes me want the loo LOL

It's been a crap start to the year so am hoping against hope that now it's a new month the year will get better...I didn't get my loan, don't ask but the lenders the loan company use decided to change their minds at last minute...All because i bought the flat in my maiden name before i was married...They wanted me to change the deeds to my married name...Sod that it costs a fortune and anyways am divorced now so don't see why is should...They got enough proof that i am who i say i am and the loan people agreed but out of their hands :o(  Between the flu bug which turned gastric flu bug and another minor health scare i've had my fill for this year in space of 3 weeks LOL...I found a lump day before xmas eve...Wasn't too fussed as it was sore and sore usually means not cancerous...But with my older sis, 3 of my close friends and K worrying that started me off...I did ask GP about it when i was along for my 6 weekly appointment...So yes i did have a lump but not in my actual breast...It was under the breast and some kind of inflamation of intercostal muscles (the ones between the ribs) hence the pain...He said it can just happen and should go away by end of jan to mid feb...It naffed off last week :o) Also with K having been in hospital it's been a right crappy time...Not going into detail about that but for those i didn't email that is why i haven't been writing in here...Anyways Feb is a good month as it contains my birthday and the fluey/gastric bug means i've lost a lot of the weight i put on with the AD's HURRAH...It's also staying off bigger HURRAH :o) Also having a slight ding dong with DLA...I had tried contacting them several times before xmas and when i got engaged i kept forgetting to call back...Then G got a letter about his claim from dec last week...hmmm called and did get through and woman i spoke to put me through to a very nice man in edinburgh office...So nice man sent me a form to fill in to get G's claim backdated to when it was due for renewal as the form he said must have been lost/overlooked/mislaid somewhere...If they decide he will still get same rate care and mobility then that is £940 of backpayment so far and counting until they make a decision...I have to apply again to be his appointee so am gonna ask DSS up here if i can just get Gs and Ms done at same time as i have form in to be Ms appointee to send back...At least i didn't get the usual bullshit i do when i phone DLA to talk to someone, most impressed i wish i had written down the mans name so i could write in a compliment about him.

I promise i will catch up on everyones entries and try and leave comments soon...Going to take a leaf out of a friends book and go and cook a salad for myself LOL

Take care toodle pip xx
