Not a lot really

Last week was a bit of a pain and busy...I have a card meter for my gas and my boiler is so old is should be condemned...My pilot light had gone out and it's a pain to relight and i need my plumber to do it for me...So he came out and relit it for me and 2 days later it went out again...He came back and decided the thermal coupling needed replacing so after a lot of hassle he managed to replace it...But my meter had gone off and needed switching back on...So i had to phone the gas supplier and get someone out to switch it back on....This was week past saturday...It worked fine 'till last tues evening when my meter died a death on me and i had no gas whatsoever at all...Couldn't cook or have hot water or heating...I phoned powergen on wed morning and they put in an order for transco to come round and see what was up...Well 8.25am transco were ordered and they should have been round within 4 hours...Called powergen back after 5 hours and they called transco who said they were running a bit late...Phoned powergen back at approx 5pm and got transco told them they were very busy that day and i was still on list to be seen...At what time they couldn't say...Hmmm bloke arrived at just after 6pm...The batteries needed replacing...HE said he'd relight the pilot light but it came on all by itself...HURRAH...Well i got a call today and am getting £20 compensation because transco were so late in coming round...They're going to send me a cheque :o) That wed the boys had club and i was in a panic on how to get them there...They'd fallen out so refused to go on bus together or in a taxi together...G went on the bus...For first time ever M walked into town on his own and arrived at club safe and sound...The toerag refused to take his mobile with him so need to work on that with him...G phoned to say they were both there safe and sound though :o) ...Had a huge arguement with M over him walking unaccompanied like but am glad he managed it...Fingers crossed he can manage it again.

Last tuesday i started a 6 week course on issues to do with teenagers who are aspergers/autistic...It's not every day but every tues for 6 weeks...Last week we all introduced ourselves and said a bit about our children and what we hoped to get from the course...Me of course having 2 went on forever LOL...The course is being run by the Scottish Society for Autism...We had to do a mind map about ourselves and i still need to finish mine...It should be interesting...Anything said about each other of course is confidential but i can speak on here about what i get from it personally and how it will help me with the boys...What i really want to get out of it is help with coping with the next big transition which is of course leaving school and going out into the adult world.

K was home briefly at the weekend...She came up on fri evening and left on sat evening...She was up campaigning with the Scottish Youth Parliament in city centre on sat...She took M down with her to help out as well...He really liked it which surprised me as town was crowded on sat...The others who came up from the SYP to campaign seemed to really like M and are keen for him to become an MSYP somehow...G really isn't interested in any of it at all...He just wants to sit and play on his Wii or X box or PS2 or be online...He starts his exam leave a week thurs and is off for a month he thinks...K took a friend back here whilst they were waiting on their respective trains on sat...So he set up my router for me :o) So the boys can use the Wii online now...G is moaning that the writing is too small on the screen though...No doubt he'll set up the X box to use online too

I've not set up the printer or the camera yet on the computer...I know am lazy <ggg> ...I still need to read how to delete pics off my camera as some of them are awful...The colours are all wrong on some of the pics of cards which is really annoying...Lilac/purple has come out blue...I may take them outside and take pics out there in the natural light see if they work better...That's providing the weather stays nice LOL...Anyways better go pick up G from footie training...M has stopped it for now but i hope he goes back...Hope you're all up early to wash your faces in the may dew tomorrow with it being 1st of May LOL

monday

I know i've not been posting much on here and i do apologise...I've had a really dodgy stomach for the last 3 weeks :o( ...Initially i thought it was food poisoning from visiting K but then i had it again just a few days later...So i decided it must be chicken...Chicken set off my gall bladder and since i had my gall bladder out i can eat chicken but sparingly...But i haven't eaten any chicken for over a week and my tummy is still playing up...Goodness knows what it is and i can#t see my GP tomorrow so will have to wait until next tues to try get an appointment with him...Or i might phone one day this week and see one of the other GPs....G was sent home from school on fri at lunchtime...He really was miserable...It's his hayfever playing up big time and it set off his asthma bad last fri too...He'd gone in on fri because he had a NAB...NABs are part of the Highers and they are basically tests at end of each module...Most subjects they get 3 NABs over the course of the year...If they don't do the NAB and if they don't pass the NAB then they fail the WHOLE course...I didn't know he had one on fri as the toerag ain't told me when any of his have been...Anyway he was coughing like crazy and was stuffed up like crazy and his eyes were watering and itchy...I did ask GP about injections last week but he said no...Problem with the cortisone injections for hayfever is if you have a reaction then you're stuck with it...With his exams coming up soon then it's better to just muddle along as he is just now...GP did change the antihistamines he's on as the ones he was using he's been on for the last 2 or 3 summers and i don't think they're working anymore...I just hope that the days of his actual exams the pollen count is fairly low.

I still haven't installed all the drivers for the camera or the printer LOL...I've been buying more stuff for cards i just need to sit down and get them all made up...I've been sketching out ideas for designs...Soons i get some samples that i LIKE i will take photos and post them on here...Everything is everywhere across the living room and am fed up of it looking such a mess...I've decided i want an old writing bureau to go in one of the alcoves through here...Not for writing on but to tidy away all the craft stuff...I've asked the bloke out the back to look out for one for me...It can be in shoddy condition am not fussed as itwill get covered in glue, glitter, feathers, embossing powders, paint, ink etc...But it will keep all the bits n bobs cleared away...That means i need 2 computer chairs though LOL...One for the computer in this alcove and one for the other alcove...Anyways am rambling now so will go off have play with what i bought today...BTW this is not me spending that compensation money in advance...That i will be using to buy new glass paints with as mine are mainly all dried up :o(  They cost a fortune and i need to replace nearly all of mine so that's what i will be using that unexpected money for :o)

Not a lot

Well it's fri the 13th but am not supersitious of it at all...My 13th birthday fell on a friday the 13th back in 19 oatcake LOL...Our glorious weather has disappeared today though :o(  Back down to 9 degrees and foggy...Hope it's nice tomorrow as we're going north to visit my sisters and mum...I got a packet of the orchid bulbs for big sis and mum to share...I think 50 bulbs should be enough between them LOL...Bought myself an el cheapo pair of sandals from asda on wed but they've blistered one of my toes...So gonna have to get the plasters out until they're worn in...Been bad today as i was parked beside one of the hiking shops and popped in and bought a bright purple pair of crocs for myself...Now they are really comfy :o) I liked the poem Stuart put in his journal the other day about wearing pruple...I love purple and if i needed to wear glasses i'd have purple tinted contact lenses to go with the purple hair <ggg> ...G was not impressed as i dragged him round asda with me...We were only down there to use the passport photo machine as he needed a photo for new fangled transport card thing they gotta have for their transport now...It was him who wanted to go in to asda to buy another controllor for his X-box...Am lost with all these damned games consoles things he's been buying...Oh i was bad last week too and i bought a printer from asda LOL...Was in there with my best pal and her wee lad and she said you only came in to buy some bread and juice...Well my old printer was capput and i needed a new one...It's a cheap one HONESTLY...It's a cheap canon 3 in 1 type that is photo quality and it was in the sale...I need to uninstal the drivers for the old one and instal the drivers for this one...I also need to uninstal old drivers for old cameras that are capput and instal the drivers for new camera...Will do that once the boys are back at school and i can actually get near here without being asked 'mum can i go online' LOL

It was lovely seeing K last weekend...M was a bit of a pain but he always is...The weather was gorgeous and we picked her up at her boyfriends...The boys do like her fella :o) They think he's well cool...She's about 12 miles out of edinburgh and the view she has out of her window is fab...Mug here now has to find somewhere to store all her kitchen parphenalia LOL...We went to asda down there to buy K an easter egg and mug here ended up buying her a new top, new bra with matching knickers and some choccy as they had no eggs left that she liked...The holiday inn place wasn't in livingston but nearer bathgate...Mind you they're not that far apart and K is in a wee village between the 2...Couldn;t help but giggle at the name of place the holiday inn was right beside...Boghall LOL...It's built on a hillside and am sorry for anyone who stays there who may be reading this but the houses looked bogging (yuk)...Couldn't manage to get a pic but there was this big sign saying 'Keep Boghall tidy' ...She was off at a gig in Glasgow last night and i hope she enjoyed it...Of course muggins here texted her at a specific time to say 'right time up you need to go catch yer bus home'...Hmmm the words mum and mug only 1 letter different <ggg>

I have got glitter everywhere LOL...I've been glitterfying bits and bobs...Hmm new word there wonder how to spell it so it looks cool...Also got teensy beads that are glitter sized everywhere...Hmmm general mess everywhere here but hey that's the nature of doing crafty stuff...that's my excuse and am sticking to it :o) ...I need a workroom but can't have one...And K if you read this and say i can use the cupboard on the stairs my answer to that is :oP ...It's cold down there and no heating or anything...Hope alerts for this entry work as they don't appear to have for my quickie entry the other day...Better go and do something constructive now...Have a lovely weekend everyone

OMG am in shock

Are you all sat down safely at your computer???? I do hope so and make sure you don't fall off your chairs...I got post this morning from the DLA office in Blackpool...It was a letter of APOLOGY from the non existant customer services dept...This is an apology for how i was treated during one of the calls i made...Now wondering if am gonna get more apologys for the other mistreatment i got on other calls...Am in shock...Am totally gobsmacked...They don't APOLOGISE to anyone...Now pick yourselves back off the floor <gggg>  They have identified the woman who took my call and she will be spoken to and reprimanded...Am guessing for now this is the one who put the phone down on me after claiming that G didn't exist...Now there's the bloke who insisted in putting me through to the wrong dept, the missing paper file of last 14 years and other bits to be apologised for LOL

this 'n' that

Oh dear i've been a bit neglectful of my journal recently...We're still alive just haven't put an entry in...The boys are on holiday until the 18th...They have the 2 weeks off then the mon as it is our local mon holiday and the tues is inservive day...You know all these inservice/inset days are supposed to be for teachers to train...Well what did they do when us oldies were at school...No inservice then LOL...There's enuff time off school as it is IMO.

The boys were in respite playscheme on tues and went to see the new Mr Bean film... They said it was very funny...Last nite they went out for a meal with their Triple A club and enjoyed that...G wasn't impressed when i told them they could keep their change...He'd spent nearly all his tenner whereas M only had chips and a drink LOLOL...We're going down to see K at the weekend and booked into a hotel for the sat nite...It will be good to see her again :o) ...She's still having a bit of a time of it but at least she has been taken off the medication that was badly affecting her...Praying that what she has been given instead works...We'll go up north for a day next week to see everyone...I bought lots of flower bulbs and planters from poundland....Got a packet of lilies (6 for £1), some orchids for outside (50 for £1), a mixed pack of 50 for £1 that has 10 iris's in it...Mum asked what the other ones in that packet are...I said 20 pink flowers and 20 spikey pink flowers LOL...Got 2 big planters at only £1 each and a set of 2 smaller ones for £1...I bought a packet of 25 freesia's for £1 as well...So today i ended up planting some outside...I need some more planters though...I emptied out the ones i already have to use but still need some more...I did put some of the bulbs in the ground see if they grow...Am not very good with gardening or even growing anything indoors...If they grow they grow and if they don't well they didn't cost much <ggg> I say identical plastic planters in sainsburys for £3...No-one uses the teensy garden we have except for me and bloke downstairs...He cut the grass today which saved me doing it...Well i say grass it's more weeds than grass...I put down special weedkiller on it every year and they still grow like crazy on it...The weather has been gorgeous and really warm...The north east of scotland was warmest place in the UK yesterday...It's dulled down outside now andi reckon we are due some thunder...Swear i heard a rumble earlier but it could have been something else

I ended up with the heat gun from argos as i couldn't find a cheaper one...And i now have a method of getting inserts put into cards :o) Will leave them blank for people to write their own verses on though...I've been spending a lot of time preparing all kinds of bits for making up cards with...Once that's all done i can then make up samples and photograph them...The gun makes embossing so much easier :o) I also have another idea and need to make some stencils up...I don't think the cards i do are anything special and anyone could do them really...But i'll give it a go and if it works it works.

G had money burning a hole in his bank account again and went and bought himself a X box 360...Why you may ask when he has plenty games consoles already...Well there is 2 games he wants that you only get on that format LOL...At least it wasn't a playstation 3 which is rubbish from all accounts...I need to check online and see when his exams are on...He has a timetable but he has left it in school which is typical...I'll get to see it the day before he is off on exam leave LOL...He is going away with the base for a long weekend again at the end of may...Well i think it is end of may LOL...They're going up aviemore way again this year...He loves all that outdoor activity stuff :o) ...If he goes white water rafting again i will be most upset...M has joined local youth group that K used to belong to...He will represent the Triple A team...He did have second thoughts about joining it but in the end decided he was going to and went to the AGM...I dropped him off and spoke to some of the people there i knew...Quite a few knew him through K so they made him very welcome and i felt comfy leaving him on his own...I was going to see about getting him a support worker to go with him but looks like he will manage on his own which is brill...After time has passed he would like to try and stand to get onto the youth parliament one day...Really wants to follow in his big sisters footsteps LOL...K got a ticket from the SYP last week to go to the Young Scot awards so she got to dress up posh which she loves doing...She is also now on the exec of the SYP and is chair of the Social Justice committee :o) ...At their last meeting a couple of weekends ago most of the political parties had representatives there as of course we have the elections coming up in May...She managed to get a hold of Nicol Stephen who is leader of liberal democrats and was deputy first minister...She had a few words with him about young carers so he has promised to see that more is done for them LOL...If he is re-elected and still in a position of power she won't let go...The poor man really won't know what hit him <ggg> See the lib dems and the tories had their party leaders along...Jack Mcconnell had a prior engagement but did send someone high up from labour...SNP well they didn't send along anyone of importance...So seems like Alex Salmond doesn't care much about youth votes...I can't stand that man, he makes my skin crawl...As he isn't even on the scottish parliament i don't see why it is him who is representing them in all the debates...He is an MP not an MSP...But he does love the limelight and is so full of his own self importance...Dunno who is worse him or Tony Blair...Out it this way i wouldn't vote SNP because i can't stand their leader and i don't agree with a lot of what he says...Tommy Sheridan another i can't stand has announced in his partys mainfesto a carers allowance...Erm DUH one already exists Mr Sheridan...Ok i have gone and read what it states and some of it is quite good and trying to do a better deal for young carers...Won't make me vote for his party (solidarity) though because the man is as odious as alex salmond...You know what would be good but will never happen...That all the good bits are taken from each party and implemented LOL...Politics just makes me yawn at times...I don't really have a particular party i support...More that i usually try and see who will do the best they can for my area and what i believe in regardless of which party they belong to...Oh well a month to go and we'll see what happens...SNP always do well in polls leading up to elections then fall at final hurdle maybe this time it will be different.

One thing before i go...Since when did we give presents at Easter!!!!!...On TV they are advertising CD's and other stuff as easter presents!!!!!...Ok we give easter eggs but nothing else...Am sick fed up of everything getting over commercialised all the time...We give Easter eggs to roll as a sign of the stone being rolled away from Jesus tomb...We do NOT give presents...Better go and make tea now.
