Sat bits

Today me and the boys went to a BBQ for the local autistic society...It was a rather posh bbq held at one of the local private schools...One of the members who is an adult with autism her sister owns the school and they laid on a fantastic spread...The only bit that was actually bbq'd was hamburgers...There was the most fantastic buffet that i haven't seen as good at most other events...Not being a hamburger fan i had a baked potato with some salad...Then i tried to be good and just have a big bowl of fruit salad with NO cream but ended up having choccy fudge cake as well LOL...As the weather was a bit iffy the bouncy castle was cancelled so some of the young kids were a bit miffed...But they went out into the playground and all the lads and men were playing footie in the 5-aside pitch LOL...There was a few people there i haven't seen for years and it was good to catch up...Oh and me and one of the sets of parents bitched about MrsP <ggg>...Everyone who knows G was so pleased with how well his results went :o)

The club the boys are going to on a thurs they are thoroughly enjoying...Especially M he is so into all the media stuff...The previous week was the first time they went to the arts place and they were learning how to edit film and add special effects, music etc on all the computers...This week they were actually filming and stuff...The bloke from the arts place is actually well impressed with my 2 especially M...He was telling us about courses that can be done at the local college...Speaking of which the counselling course i want to do is now distance learning so that suit me fine :o) There was another course but you have to be working either voluntary or paid to do it grrrrr...I am going to phone the woman in charge of it and ask if being a carer for my lads counts as working LOL...Well hey it is related to the actual course.

Rest of this week has been spent form filling for K's student loan amongst other things...Also i popped into solicitors i used for my divorce and they do have someone who can do the guardianship for M...Unfortunately she is on maternity leave just now and although he's not 16 till next may it an take months to set up...The main solicitor was there when i was speaking to the receptionist and they've taken my name and number and going to get someone from their other office to give me an appointment...It's going to be a bit traumatic actually as you have to go to court...I will have to prove that he is incapable of handling his own medical and financial affairs and that i am a suitable candidate for doing it...Basically i am bringing this on his behalf but then have to also work on my own behalf at same time...Hey more stress well whats new there NOWT <shrug> ...I do feel it is for the best as although when G was in hospital the nurses and doctors spoke to me rather than him LEGALLY they didn't have to...Can't guarantee that will always happen and for M that would be disasterous...I could do power of attorney but this guardianship thing sounds better and more in depth...Been making several cards for birthdays and toying with idea of attempting a webpage as an experiment via hometown...Need to speak to a man about reducing my pics for me first without cutting any bits out....Might go and have a play not sure LOL...Am so bad with techy stuff but i wanna learn....Hmm might look see if any website design part time courses at local college too ROFL...Anything to try avoid ironing etc <ggg>

BBQ sounds great fun and I do not blame you for indulging yourself.  I do hope that the solicitor can help you and that it will not come to court.

glad the barbie was a good one and it is nice to forget the diet now and again ~ The media club sounds good ~ hope you can get on to the course you want to I would say a carer counts as working (I would think in some aspects it is harder than working) you seem to spend a lot of time filling in forms ~ hope everything goes well with guardianship I am sure it will ~ Ally

Hi Caff,  I`m glad you enjoyed the posh BBQ.  How can you resist food like that eh?  I`m sure you`ll get the guardianship, it seems to be the most obvious thing to do though it looks like there`s loads of red tape to cut through.  Let`s hope it`s as stress-free as possible for you.  :o)

Hope it all goes well Caff, guardianship sounds more in depth than the other, I'm glad there's someone that can steer you correctly.  That media course sounds just the thing for M.

Good luck with the photo thingy and web site........you're always busy. Rache

Hiya Cath :o)

the gaurdianship is by far the best option. We have it for all of the residents that aren't able to take care of their own affairs at work and it works a treat. xxxx
