birthday girl (mum) and other bits

Oh dear am getting bad at keeping up with entries here...My excuse is it's school hols and roll on monday when they go back <ggg> ...Stopped the decorating until they are back because it's impossible with them wanting to watch sky channels through here...So week in view time again

On monday G went to one of his mates so was out of my hair for a while...Tues they both went to respite playscheme and in afternoon M went to the curling...G didn't want to go which is fair enough...The coach is going to try and get a 6 week block organised which M is happy about...To be honest the others doing it are far less capable than G and in a way it's good he doesn't want to carry it on...On thurs they went to the triple A club and they had a talk on friendship from some counsellor or other and did drawing skills...They're getting really narky now and 2 weeks is too long for hols IMO

K was out with her boyfriend last weekend celebrating their 1st anniversary of being an item...AWWWWWWW...He took her out for a meal to a restaurant near his flat and wouldn't let her pay anything or see the bill...On the sunday they went bowling, cinema and pizza and i think she got to pay her share of that...Told her look make the most of it because if they're still together in a few years time chances are he won't be the same...Okies before any blokes turn on me, eg: stuart, i know NOT all men are unromantic and innatentive to their partners...My younger sis's hubby is still an old romantic at heart and K always wanted to find herself a man like him and i think she has...She's also gone and registered with a new GP where she is staying now...She had to get a medical from the nurse when she registered and they think she is borderline asthmatic...So she has a peak flow meter to do twice a week for next fortnite and ventolin to take...Well i reckon that this could be a huge step forward into explaining the blackouts and mega dizzy turns...G has asthma but he doesn't get really wheezy unless he has been really excerting himself at sports...He has what they call Silent asthma...He gets really dizzy to point where he is sometimes on verge of passing out...It took me over 2 years to get it through to the school base that when he says he is dizzy and he is very pale and tired looking that he needs to take his puffer as that is his asthma...I know this sounds a bit horrid but if she does have asthma and it's same as G's i will be happy...Because if that is why she is having the *turns* then it can be fixed so so easily...She'll just have to remember to ALWAYS carry the medication with her...I've looked it up online which is something i don't usually do...I have been with things for explanation to K's probs though...Silent asthma can cause cardiac arrhythmia for brief periods and can also play havok with blood pressure...Her BP was high hence this checking for asthma...On a good note she is really enjoying her course :o) Don't wanna say to her 'told you so' but i will be at some point cos i can't help it.

Yesterday we went up north as it was mums birthday...Mum really wasn't looking forward to it but she did have a lovely day...My younger sis organised a buffet meal at her new house and me, the boys, older sis and her daughter and daughter in law and of course younger sis's family were all there...Poor ickle sis's hubby though, the boys stood back to back with him and are now at least an inch taller than him...He's 5'11" and felt a tad short...Their new house that they have built is gorgeous...Still got a way to go to finish it like...Youngest neice has a 4 poster double bed and a chandelier in her bedroom LOL...Nothing like a bit of decadence and i told her am jealous cos i love her room...Her older sis isn't quite so opulent...Well the 4 poster and chandelier aren't actually OTT but very tasteful and not OTT girlie...Poor nephew he is making do with the girls old bunk beds and drawers, bedside cabinet so he's a bit miffed...But he's got all new scottish saltire bedding etc and it looks cool...I love sis's huge walk in wardrobe area...I have a walkin wardrobe but it's nowt like hers...Mind you i'd probs fill it with all my craft stuff cos i don't have much in way of clothes LOL...Mum loved all her pressies...We gave her a couple of 2½ feet tall glass vases with dried grasses and ocra in them...I placed one each side of her fireplace and mum thought they look good there...She got clothes and jewellery but one thing she loved and kept looking at whens he though we weren't watching was a brooch from my older sis...Now mum has always really disliked the colour blue...I mean really really dislikes...Sis got her a brooch with a bluebird on it...Bluebird was the name of my grandad (mums dad) fishing trawler...Mum really was overwhelmed with that gift...They had also ordered a birthday cake for her from a local bakers and ordered one just a tad too big LOL...Was like a hat as mum does like wearing her hats :o)  We didn't leave till 10pm and we're lucky we made it home in once piece to be honest...There was thick fog and lashing rain at same time for a good third of the journey...I did skid a few times across the road slightly :o(  Very very scary and luckily not much traffic about and defo something i never want to repeat.

am watching X factor and a bit shocked at the 2 acts in bottom two this week...Well i am shocked that the macdonald brothers weren't in bottom two as they were by far the worst act tonight...Oh well result just been announced and louis is now down to only 2 acts...Thought it would be that way but not the group who left...Am scottish but please could all the scots out there STOP voting for the macdonalds...It's good to back someone from your own country but NOT when they are that bad...Just want to say thank you to Jan as she got this tag made for me and it is absolutely gorgeous :o)

Toodle pip tc xx

Hi Caff, I didn`t even realise there was something called silent asthma.  It does make a lot of sense though because Danny had a type of asthma diagnosed at 4 years old.  He didn`t have the usual breathless symtoms, only a constant cough that he`d had since a baby and pains in his arms and legs.  Not what you`d usually associate with it.  His inhalers really helped and luckily he grew out of it by his late teens though I know it could return at any time.  If this is K`s problem it would answer all the questions about her blackouts and certainly put yours and hers minds at rest.

Hugs
